JT's HS PositionsI don't ever recall hearing that Taylor played QB at any level. The link states the home-schooler (I believe his family had to go to court to have him be allowed to participate) played TE and Safety at Woodland Hills, PA (and basketball as well, which he also did for one season at UA). I can still hear Faust saying in his raspy tone, "this kid can run like a deer!" when speaking of him early on.

I agree with this to a point. I look at someone like Jason Taylor and he probably STILL plays too high but obviously remains effective. However if this guy's speed is for real, I think we just found ourselves the outside pass rush that has been missing for a while (I don't consider Jermaine Reed piling up his sack stats against Buffalo and the like as constituting a consistent outside rush). Yeah baby!!!

On the way home last night, my 1350 am reception began to fade horribly, so I clicked on 640 am to hear some of the post-game thoughts from the Can't side. Their assistant (Oppenheimer or something like that) clearly indicated that the Can't coaches felt the game was lost purely from a lack of effort in the 2nd half. I know coaches will always have a tendency towards that line of thinking, but they don't always call the kids out in public on it. It'll be interesting to see what happens the 2nd (and maybe 3rd and Frenchie loves to say) time around.

If he wanted to transfer, why would he want to skip all the way down to D-III? If it's purely for PT, then tranfering to a D1-AA or D-II school (another ex-Zip at Ashland?) would seem to be more likely. And if D-III is what he wants, you'd think Larry Kehres would find a spot on the roster Regardless, I hope he stays. If I picture Hakes correctly, I see he and CJ as probably being more of the "mobile", "dual-threat" types with Chris being the better pocket QB? Who knows, maybe he might be needed in a game where we fall behind early and by a lot.

Nothing.....besides possibly an 0SU failure, but let's NOT go there....BuckZip and others, just ignore that comment please... ......delights me more than whipping Can't in anything! But, I absolutely agree with your comments. Of the 3 coaches who have lead Can't's impressive string of basketball success in recent years, he may be the best of them all IMO. He seems to always have depth (although they wore down some last night for sure) and his teams consistently play better as the year progresses. The latter is the true test for any coach. I believe KD when he insists that he roots for Can't to do well. He really enjoys the rivalry and he realizes that it's truly special when both teams our playing well.

What a terrific game and experience in general! My only comment on the preceding comments is, who of Can't's rotation is Nick going to guard?

I concur with all of the AK Rowdie kudos! It was AWE$OME seeing both ends full, and even pockets of "spillover" in the upper ends. I saw lots of future little Zippers with Rowdie gear too. Thank you for all of the effort!

I've been thinking about the Indiana game lately. Is there any chance that this game could be played in Cleveland, just as the BG-Wisconsin game was this past year? Not that I prefer this of course. Boise St. absolutely crushed Oregon St (42-14), the same team that gave USC its 1st loss. They also beat Hawaii and won two pretty difficult road games by easy margins (Utah 36-3 and Nevada 38-7). Granted, they didn't play a good team every week, but they rose to the occasion when needed. Consider this. Zero State's win over Texas probably wasn't as impressive by year's end as it seemed initially. Oklahoma was able to win the Big 12, largely WITHOUT Adrian Peterson. Boise beat them WITH Peterson. I think what we saw last night was a pretty common sight in bowl season: An overrated Small Eleven team getting exposed!After all the crap I put up with throughout the year from OSU fans for simply having the nerve to follow another team, I do not have the slightest bit of sympathy for all the criers I witnessed during the end of the game. Why I think I may have overdosed on Schadenfreude!!!Go Zips!!!

Both he and Penn Hills teammate DE Joe Rash were 2nd team all-state in Penna Quad-A. I'd like to think that having HS teammates playing on the same side of the ball should help with team chemistry.
