  1. 1)check this thread. 2) You're right, this game will probably come back to haunt us. 3) Ohio is hardly anything close to the best team in the conference. Akron and Can't are both better teams.
  2. This is why it is being called. I saw something on TV about the crackdown of elbows. If I remember right, the elbow can not be above the shoulder or something like that. Well Zeke's was certainly not. His elbows naturally are at the face of everyone else because they are so much shorter than him. He just puts his out to his side, hits someone in the face, and it's an automatic intentional foul...that's ridiculous.
  3. More importantly, why was McKnight out of the game at the end when we needed a big shot? The guy has been hot from three and is generally pretty clutch. Overall, yeah some bad luck today, but we were outcoached for the second consecutive game.
  4. What were you referring to? However, a BS around the rim and in three... I was referring to that trip on Abreu, it was a ridiculously obvious foul. But overall, yes everything is against us, nothing is working.
  5. I'm beginning to really think the MAC is against us. This is unbelievable. First the elbow BS and now this.
  6. Is it me or did a few posts disappear from this thread?
  7. Collection of every video I can find regarding draft day as well as pictures from an ASN writer who was there: The Sights and Sounds of the 2011 MLS SuperDraft
  8. I'm starting to think it would be a safe bet to say that next year we will still be the team to beat.
  9. ASN Coverage of Duels vs. Can't
  10. Genovese: http://www.flotrack.org/videos/play/339064 His 800m at State http://www.flotrack.org/videos/play/339670 His 4x400m at State (has the anchor leg) Wow. Genovese definitely has wheels. Remember that Gabriel’s stepfather is Michael King, 3-time all-America forward at Farleigh-Dickinson and 20+ year veteran of professional indoor soccer. I believe King was drafted by the Cleveland Force in 1987. I stopped by the Track meet tonight v Can't and Genovesi competed in one of the events. I don't recall at the moment which one it was though, thinking 800 though. He finished 4th I think, and I didn't realize he was running until they announced the results. Also, Katie Wise of the women's soccer team competed in the triple jump. It's always fun to get out there and check out some of the non- mainstream sporting events on campus, especially if it involves beating the Flushes again. Gabriel was in the 400 meter.
  11. Unbelievable...it sounded like a slam dunk that he was going to prison for this. I was under the impression that they had plenty of witnesses.
  12. Update; Case Dismissed 1/14/11 I hope you're joking, but wasn't he in court today? Couldn't find anything on it.
  13. ASN recap of the day along with reactions/quotes from some of the players. Also, can we get a "Greatest Team of All-Time" emoticon?!
  14. lol, that is true. Let's just hope the B&G Brass don't start using lyrics period.
  15. No, he plays NAIA. It has nothing to do with the NCAA so no restrictions.
  16. Yes, I think it was. Remember, this is UofA Athletics you're talking about. When have they EVER done anything right? Or heck when have they ever shown common sense? I was told by Barley House management, the University were trying to get the City of Akron involved in throwing a parade, followed up with a celebration at the Barley House with videos and recognition of the Team players. I guess that must of fizzled out, although its a bit cold for a parade, but I would of been there. I hear you, I'd be there no doubt as well. At least they are giving out free hats on Tuesday (from what i've heard).
  17. I'm starting a new feature on my blog called 20 Questions. Here is our first edition, 20 questions with Nate Linhart. Nate (of course) was very classy about the whole thing and his responses are great. Take a look: LINK
  18. This is unbelievable...poor Ampai.
  19. There's at least one Akron fan there. Yep, I know someone there, we are probably talking about the same person lol. He just informed me that the chant wasn't for Akron, just sounded like it. I guess the Philly fans are still buzzing with anger about not getting Hertzog.
  20. A lot of booing from those Union fans, they really wanted Hertzog. Was that an Akron chant i just heard?
  21. I still agree with Dambrot. The Bobcats have had a few decent streaks where they have played well. They still are an 8-8 team that's lost A LOT of games at home this year, a few against bad teams. I see them playing on Day 1 of the MAC Tourney this year and unless lucky again, not doing anything in Cleveland.
  22. Yep, Abreu was horrendous after that quick start. Though the entire team played pretty poorly, he at least was hustling at times. Also, McClanahan and McKnight couldn't have half-assed it much more than that second half. Lazy defense, no hustle on fast breaks, it seemed like they didn't even care. And I'm sure they weren't the only ones, but it sure stood out.
  23. no just moronic...and it's UA not AU. But i couldn't agree more with you about the terrible feeds they put out.
  24. Essentially the Basketball team just gave a finger to the Soccer team with how they played tonight. Amazingly, the Soccer team still got a HUGE ovation from the fans even after they were quieted the entire first half by that dismal performance. The refs were no better though, what a joke on that flagrant/technical or whatever it was.
