  1. One thing can be said at least for now: we've become stable from 1-11 seasons to 5-7 seasons. Getting more talent on the team, and refining of that talent that takes place, this team will start to go places. (at least that's what I hope). I think you are underestimating that chance.
  2. I had to go look up Incarnate Word, because I thought you were making a reference (that I didn't know) to something. It's he mighty Incarnate Word Cardinals which beat Nebraska. What is going on with the Big-10? And can we get some matchups against some of these mid-range/lower Big-10 teams?
  3. Is this the type of "change" people were calling for? I don't know anything about the dynamics of the coaching staff...
  4. Akron...in the Big10...
  5. DANG IT! Oh well...at least the beat down won't be so bad.
  6. Looks like the MAC only got 5 teams to bowls this year, thanks to a very down MAC East division. Idaho Potato Bowl WMU vs. Air force Camelia Bowl BGSU vs. S. Alabama Boca Raton Bowl NIU vs. Marshall Bahamas Bowl CMU vs. WKU GoDaddy.com Bowl Toledo vs. Arkansas STATE I'm most interested to watch the Boca Raton and GoDaddy.com Bowls. I'd like to see how a MAC team can hold up against another SEC team, and NIU vs. Marshall.
  7. Keep it up Zips! Zipsnation needs to start coming out in force to the Lady Zips games!
  8. More than likely it is Zach.
  9. You are correct Keener. While I was on campus they were called "Custom U"
  10. But I would say that I was against the "Z" logo as a primary logo, now I'm indifferent. I still think the Primary logo (A-Roo) should continue being the primary logo for the program. I like it. The only thing I wish the Black uniforms would have done, is put "Fear the Roo" logo on the shoulders. I saw a mock-up of that design, and loved it. The black uniforms were a little bland, but I don't necessarily dislike them...just make them more uniquely Akron...
  11. ...her finger.
  12. I've been eye balling that site for awhile. Seems like a nice thing. Perhaps we should do a ZipNation something!
  13. And we've been the butt of the MAC and MAC jokes for a long time. I don't think a move is realistic, but I could be wrong.
  14. akronzips71 that's because I'm usually at the games and not watching the feed But, I too have written a letter do the illustrious AD about this problem.
  15. I agree with footballzip. The MAC is where we need to make our stand (football-wise). But footballzip, I think the question of switching conferences is hovering around the fact that it would be all sports: soccer, basketball, football...would it be an upgrade for all sports...if so then we should probably consider it. However, I don't think this is realistic. C-USA will not be adding Akron anytime remotely close to now.
  16. Bull-feces like this makes me want to
  17. Clearly I didn't read my K's correctly
  18. You're making too much sense.
  19. Is it possible for us to pick up any of those "cancelled" games? Would we want any of those games...personally I wouldn't mind visiting Nashville again, I had a blast there.
  20. I don't know if I should be laughing or crying...how I it possible that one of the worst FB coaches in the history of college FB, still be getting paid for "consulation". What an absolute joke.
  21. I agree Mes! Last couple of seasons I throughly enjoyed the competitive nature of WBB that I've watched, because of that.
  22. Jrship35 thanks for the insight! That's a perspective that us fans don't often get, and often forget is important. I know the S & C and recruiting of Ianello set this program back BIG. A few of my friends who were on the team through those years said as much. One of the reasons I have defended Bowden so stoutly is because of how much is being done to change the culture of this program...from as little as the locker-room speeches, to the mindset of S & C; I personally think this guy is the real deal. If there is anyone who can turn this program around (realistically) it's this team. There are still many changes to be made, that need to be made, and at the end of the day all that matters is the W/Ls. But building a program that's not just one-and-done does not come over night. I DON'T want this program to turn out like Can't; where a coach comes in for a handful of years, wins BIG and then leaves, leaving scraps of a program behind. I know there are some starving Zips fans out there and I'm probably one of the youngest (newest) ones on this forum, but I don't want BIG success now at the expense of this programs future.
  23. Perhaps Penn State is just better than we expected? They've only lost one game this season, which was 4-1 Charlotte who's only loss came against the U.
  24. +1 Dr. Z.
