Isn't ESPN3, WatchESPN? ESPN3 essentially doesn't exist anymore because it is WatchESPN. You don't have to be an optimum subscriber, you just have to have an ESPN subscription through your cable company (which gives you access to WatchESPN via your cable login information) or SlingTV subscription if you a hip person like that. For any of you who do not know, SlingTV is a streaming television service made for my generation. BTW, game is now streaming.

This is FirstRowSports.
-
It is available streaming on WatchESPN via SECNetowrk+ (which is owned by ESPN, as some have mentioned before). Here's the link if you have access from major cable providers or if your a hip Millenial and you have a $20 a month subscription to SlingTV which gives you streaming access to ESPN. http://espn.go.com/watchespn/player/_/id/2681981/size/condensed/

Scarborough's next move...
Balsy replied to urbanpreppie05's topic in General UA & Campus Discussion
Interesting article. Not only do current students, staff, faculty and alumni feel The Scar is not being forthright and transparent, it also appears state senators feel the same way. -
The NCAA even knows that the AK-Rowdies exists?

100% agree with that, and it shows how pathetic bandwagon fans are. However, I guess I can't hate on 'em too much...I just finished reading ecologist EO Wilson's new book, and his proposed Eu Species concept to explain our longing, seemingly biological, drive in the phenomema of tribalism. He makes a lot of references to his research with ants, and his experience of being part of the Alabama Crimson Tide "tribe". So their pathetic bandwagoness might partially be the result of mindless biology.

Really? A fake field goal? Why not Cody grice!?

Love watching TW13 run the fast pace offense...well until the hold...

That should have been a TD for the Akron Defense...god MAC Refs suck.

If we could settle the QB situation with Woodson, and give him a whole off season as the starter and not #3, I think there's a lot of room for him to grow. Our WRs are playing better...but it's against Miami. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm not seeing a whole lot of separation of our WRs.

BIG MAN for the TD!

Let's get some positive talk going for #ZipsGameDay. #GoZips, #BeatMiami

Scarborough's next move...
Balsy replied to urbanpreppie05's topic in General UA & Campus Discussion
As someone who constantly warns about the biased media, don't you think it's a bit hypocritical to post something from an admittedly biased source? If that weren't enough, your case-study of the "media bias" is that of a politician desperately trying to back-peddle/play the "media bias" card when the media actually researches the claims made by a presidential candidate? I mean c'mon a-zip, this is petty-fogging weak sauce. Get this weak stuff out of here! Have you ever heard of Occam's Razor? Lex Pasimoniae, the law of parsimondy or; The Simplest solution is most likely the correct one. The reason you are more inclined to believe the ABJ writers are stupid is because you're biased to believing that because you're already preconditioned to hating them. Again, if ABJ reported on the information they were provided by Scarborough et al., than all UA had to do is publish it's own correction Which, I cannot over emphasize enough, they had done in relation to other stories almost immidiately. It wasn't Scarborough who set the record straight on the $60million, it was the ABJ, after digging even further into it. No, they weren't dumb enough to not understand it...it's pretty clear UA didn't report it to them, forcing the ABJ to research further, which is considerably harder and time-comsuming to do. Again: If scarborough et al. were interested in being open and transparent, they could have easily published this correction on their website, in a press release of their own, as they did with the cuts as they were made. Your opinion isn't consistant with the facts. Note: We never claimed that Scarborough misled the ABJ, though it does appear UA didn't report everything, hoping that relavent stuff that might make the administration look worse than it already does, would fall through the cracks. It's a very common political tactic: control the headlines on A1 on a Sunday, and month laters (maybe) the contrary investigation will be in a blurb on A14 on a Wednesday, when no-one cares to read about it. -
I'm going to go out on a limb and say that it's an AJ thing. When Pohl was the starter we could move the ball, but never far enough to score points.

They've been one of the worst teams in the country for years, and we're always in a dogfight with them. We do have issues, but wait till the game is over to blow up about those problems.

There we go. As I said, relax everyone.

Everyone, relax. Go enjoy the weather, and relax.

Example of poor leadership failing to control the narrative. I'm really staring to become jaded about my alma mater. -
Scarborough's next move...
Balsy replied to urbanpreppie05's topic in General UA & Campus Discussion
...getting this topic back to Scarborough and UA... A-Zip: SeeTeeZip's point isn't that tough decisions aren't necessary, or need to be made. His point is that it appears that the Scarborough may have been not so transparent (which has been a criticism that I and many others levied against his leadership since he became president) when it came to the cuts and the situation of the cuts. His arguement is valid, especially when we consider the wonderful research/writing of DiG. When this "Debt Crisis" (as it's become known at the ABJ) first became public, it was trumpeted as a $60-million shortfall that needed to be closed immidiately. The ABJ reported it that way originally, which was direcly from information released to them by UA. UA never issued any corrections, as they did when it came to cutting 200 positions. Later, through reporting, it was revealed that it wasn't a $60-million shortfall that existed (as it had been painted) but was actually $20-million, with other $40-million being for future program developments and initiatives. This is where SeeTeeZip comes from with his arguement that Scarborough's administration has "manufactured" a budget crisis in order to inact new sweeping policies. And you've got to admit a-zip...he has a point. These are straight facts, without bias attached. The ABJ didn't make this up, it was instead the slow release of information by this administration. Any bias that the ABJ had was in their constant focus on the issue. An issue, that it appears the administration wasn't so forth-right in discussing. Unless you're advocating that the ABJ willing fabricated information, than you've got to, at the very least, admit that there is some level of credibility to his position. The administration was in no hurry to "correct the record" on the reporting of a $60-million shortfall; which makes it either deliberate or a poor leadership. -
You are what you make yourself to be. Want pathetic student attendance? Treat them like they don't matter, giving them broken chairs, and blame them for the broken chairs instead of the clear lack of maintence that's been done on the building. The chairbacks are broken because of the students? Please. Thy're broken because they're crap that hasn't been maintained. I'm not sure what students your watching during the game, but see more fans above the age of 40 behaving inappropriate in their chairs than the students. Treat students as if they matter, because they're kinda the reason a college exists...and they kinda foot the bill for athletics than all of us on this board do combined. Show young people some respect and maybe we can start turning this university around.

There's been rumors about Bowden leaving Akron since he came here. I'd sell all stock you have on that idea ASAP. Bowden's all in on Akron.

The official Bowden cheerleader is done defending. I can't do it anymore. Still 4-games left.

I'm really getting tired of losing.

Dang it, you caught me. I'm a writer for the ABJ.
