  1. Pretty good crowd. Heck, the game was free and a lot better matchup than the game at the JAR last night. Plus, I should have time to go home and change into my woolies to go to the Zips-BGSU game.
  2. Impressive interview. Nice to see us add a more traditional freshman recruit.
  3. Wow, that play had no chance of succeeding even if the ball did get to Edwards.
  4. WAKR just said the Zips will play at South Carolina on Dec 1 for the 12th game.
  5. Really bad play call and execution
  6. Or transfer in for that matter. Recruit some quality freshmen to build on.
  7. Well, the bleacher seats are silver/grey. I think we have one of these every game. Enjoy, I don't do 40s and rain any more. I'll sell you my white poncho that only has Bryant Heating logo and no UA i.d. on it.
  8. The schedule on Duquesne's website now says the game will be played at St. V.
  9. The article doesn't specify. KD does mention St.V. in the video clip. They might even play in the LBJ gym, especially if they wrap the event around LBJ and the I Promise school. It holds 1800. Firestone holds 2200. I have no problem with KD, but not really sure UA should help out here. ( I admit I didn't recall Radford made the NCAA tournament last year, though. Might want a bigger venue)
  10. Interesting. https://pittsburghsportsnow.com/2018/10/19/duquesnes-keith-dambrot-on-taking-the-dukes-to-akron/
  11. I signed up for the 7 day trial today and it is working fine on my Chromecast.
  12. I'm just thrilled we actually have at least some uniforms that feature the actual school colors.
  13. Kudos to you for sticking it out on the east side
  14. The west side pic was taken at the beginning of the game when the team ran out on the field just before kickoff. The east side was taken in the 2nd quarter. What I observed was the east side crowd diminishing after the 85° sun came out in full force and many people followed me to the shade of the press box side. Regardless, they aren't 22,000 there but the attendance figure always seems to be 10,000 over anyway.
  15. This is 22,437? Oh well, who does post actual "attendance" anyway?
  16. Not sure if it makes any difference, but I am watching and casting from Fox Sports Go app and all is fine.
  17. I have the stream on, but why the heck isn't this one of the regional games on one of the BTN channels on Spectrum in Akron/NE Ohio?
  18. And 1350 cuts off Frenchie in midsentence and goes to 11 pm programming.

  20. She didn't mention Haliegh Reinoehl. Hopefully she's still around. Probably their best player.
  21. WAKR interview today with Melissa Jackson. http://wakr.net/personalities/sam-bourquin/item/163612-melissa-jackson-named-ua-women-s-basketball-coach
  22. Melissa Jackson named Zips women's basketball coach. http://gozips.com/news/2018/6/26/melissa-jackson-named-head-womens-basketball-coach-at-akron.aspx
  23. If this is true, it certainly doesn't seem to say much about the financial state of the athletic department or lay a foundation to give candidates and recruits much confidence in the program's resources. We're not talking about paying off a coach with a year or two left on their contract. It's only a couple of months overlap.
  24. She signed a 5 year contract in 2013 that took her though the end of this season, so buying her out wouldn't really have been a consideration. Some move was going to have to be made anyway. Losing 19 MAC games in a row over two seasons obviously didn't bode well. I was wondering then what might happen at the end of the season and am surprised it didn't happen sooner after our season ended. For what it's worth, BGSU endured 4 years of big losing before letting their long time (assistant and the head) coach go. I think the beginning of Kest's downfall was not capitalizing on the NCAA success with successful recruiting classes for 14-15 and 15-16.
  25. Yeah, I also have to disagree about which is the better job/program -although we may have been paying a bit more. BGSU has been an elite program in the MAC going back to the 80s. Our program was nothing until Kest got here. BGSU has a much stronger fan base, evidenced by the fact they drew almost 3 times the fans the Zips did despite having a similarly dismal season this year. They also drew more fans this year than we did in our NCAA tournament year. They also have an active chat room focused on women's basketball. The challenge will be for the new Zips regime to build the team and program back up to where it is at an elite level. We saw Buffalo and CMU raise the bar this year in the NCAA tournament. That was fun to watch.
