  1. I think it's all an indicator of the nature of Groce. He adapts to what he has rather than trying to pound square pegs into round holes. He has shooters and depth now, so it's off to the races with lots of three pointers. Last year, he had a dominant post player and not much depth and he slowed it down and played inside out. In Groce I trust.
  2. I understand they only took that game for the payout. It helped to fund the entire athletic program including basketball program that had a staff that regularly failed to come up with a competitive OOC schedule.
  3. Mouse McFadden and Eric McLaughlin in that game.
  4. Zips OVC Championship game over Middle Tennessee in 1986 to get them into the tournament.
  5. 2005 MAC Championship. Zips rally from 14 down against Northern Illinois and win with 17 seconds remaining in regulation when Luke Getsy connected with Domenik Hixon on a 36-yard touchdown pass. The first Buchtel College game in 1891 defeating Western Reserve Academy 22–6 in Hudson, Ohio was a doozy too!
  6. There's certainly damage caused to the morale and enthusiasm of each school's fan by the weeknight games. Also, the reality is that until and unless the MAC starts playing a higher quality of football the basic football fan on a national scale isn't going to watch regardless of when it's on.
  7. Just sharing the info from the article.
  8. The Norse fell to 1-5 with a 79-64 loss to College of Charleston today.
  9. Yet it's nearly ten times the number that watches on Saturday. 🤷‍♂️
  10. Article on the rationale for the MAC playing on weeknights- https://www.wosu.org/sports/2024-11-26/mid-american-conference-football-goes-all-in-on-november-weeknights-for-the-tv-viewers
  11. Can't argue with that! Not sure how with that list you can pick Brimfield.
  12. It's a little sad that 4 wins is an improvement, but it is. I believe that was my prediction pre-season as I expected improvement but not huge improvement. If they can build on this they should be bowl eligible next year. That had to be high point in an otherwise awful week for Moorhead.
  13. He was going to PCCC. How good could he be. JUCO here I come. Another gem here- https://athlonsports.com/college/kent-state-golden-flashes/kent-state-roasted-winless-season-buffalo
  14. Another nice stand by the defense.
  15. They don't want to ruin their chance at a bowl if 90-100 teams drop out.
  16. How was it not an illegal man downfield when the QB receiver falls into an offensive lineman ten yards downfield?
  17. So what's the under/over for Toledo points in the first half of the 3rd quarter?
  18. Glad to see the Zips play with some energy. I'm sure it has been a rough week as JoMo's father passed away on the 20th.
  19. That was a hell of a start! The fans are going crazy. Both of them.
  20. I'm going to keep rooting for Dru as he is a Zip through and through. He walked into a tough situation with graduations and transfers and I'll wait to see what he can do over a couple of seasons with his own recruits before deeming his brief tenure at Duquesne a failure. I'll also not judge his decision to take on the challenge. There aren't many people who would pass up an opportunity at what is essentially a promotion to the top position in your organization.
  21. The word on the street is that they don't have a serviceable backup big and that they have a weak OOC schedule. Also, the teams they have lost to have just wanted it more.
  22. I sure hope. I am rooting for the kid. He's unfailingly polite and a real student athlete.
  23. Marvin Musiime-Kamali did a nice job of spelling Okonkwo after Amani went down today. I'm starting to worry a little about Jojo Harris. I really want him to be the next Xeyrius Williams but I'm a little afraid he could be the next Maishe Dailey.
  24. So good I won't fix it.
