They've brought in Kevin Stefanski as a halftime adjustment consultant.

This team has 7 quarterbacks yet apparently not one that can run a D1 FBS offense.

Can I just give you $20 to work with for the rest of the game?

Morgan State entered the FCS Power Rankings as number 25 based upon their upset of Richmond and moved up to number 4 in the HBCU football power rankings. They were also named the FCS National Team of the Week. They limited Richmond to 264 yards of offense, forced four turnovers and had five sacks. As for DJ, I wonder if Moorhead is seeing something different/better in practice or if he just has loyalty to him based upon the fact that he stuck around through the transition and has been a good leader for the program.

Unfortunately, that's all you get after years of awful football. Nobody cares except the staff, players, players' families and about 20 posters on here. As a result, nobody from the press really covers the games, attends press conferences or asks the tough questions.

catdaddyp, keep it up! I need people like you to occasionally talk me off of the Zips football edge!
-
I am usually not the "downer" guy and I do have faith in Moorhead, but as long as the Zips are losing to bottom 20 teams I don't have much interest in moral victories or "looking on the bright side."
-
Frustratinggggggg as hell. So much for "FINISH." Given some of what I saw from the team today, including a cornerback jumping offside, I don't so much question the talent level of this team as I do the intellect of some of its key pieces.

The ESPN betting talking head on SportsCenter just featured this matchup and said we should all bet the Zips and the points! Spoke highly of Moorhead and DJ!

FanDuel is still at 3.5.

Some more observations now looking back. There are three solid point guards in Scott, Thornton and Tavari. Baker is going to provide solid minutes as a big and Amani looks much bigger (as mentioned above). Assuming the shooting I saw from Enrique was not a fluke, we may see two bigs on the floor more often. The kids are having fun and paying attention. Even the new kids, especially Scott and Thornton are up to speed already and giving direction to others. The team communicates well and seems to enjoy each other. Lots of smiles. No obvious bad attitudes. Enrique is becoming more and more of a leader. In one instance Groce was making a relatively complex point and Enrique in a very low voice put it in very simple terms for a couple of nearby teammates. This team will be the deepest Zips team in some time. Other than Enrique there are no distinct stars, but there's the type of talent for a couple of other guys to step up and star on a given night.

Currently at the breakfast/practice. Some quick observations: Enrique is making threes from the wing off of pick and pops; Darrin Baker is a man; Shammah Scott is going to be a big contributor; Ali looks happy and healthy; Dawson looks to be back up at full speed; Groce is not mellowing with age. I can't wait for the season!

Bob Huggins To Be Inducted Into HOF
clarkwgriswold replied to clarkwgriswold's topic in Akron Zips Basketball
It all makes me wonder: 1) How many rides home did he get in Morgantown when found in a similar condition and 2) what if anything he took from his first OVI in 2004. -

Even more so today with all of the transportation options available. He also has the resources and connections to get any ride he wants. It's inexcusable. -

Yep, Huggy has to be done after this fresh on the heels of the reduction of his salary after due controversial radio comments. Hell of way to end a great career. -
Maybe, but if so somebody needs to get the word out to the local baseball guys because as I said, that's the word spreading out there in the baseball community.

Donnelly was never "their" guy, he was just the most available at the time and the kids liked him. He did a fine job with the hand he was dealt. Word on the street is that he was made an offer he had to refuse, cutting paid assistants and scholarships. Guthrie is either delusional or lying when he says this job has no constraints.
