So what ever happened to Cowles Stewart?

I can't understand how Ohio still has an RPI higher than everyone, but are 3rd in the MAC East standings and 4th overall.

I'm wondering the same thing. I thought it was highly likely that he was coming here. Aren't we still holding a scholarship? Maybe for him?

I like your rendition FearTheRoo. I would prefer it to be situated North/South rather than East/West as you show.

That is great news. It should help us, but probably not by too much. Maybe we get a couple more points and move up a couple spots. Gonzaga is having a down year.

Does anyone know how or why some schools already have recruits listed as signed LOI even before signing day?

I totally agree Zip_ME87. That type of thing makes me sick. Either wear The University of Akron clothing or normal business attire when representing the school! Wearing another school's clothing is horrible.

The Browns are going to take Adrian Peterson RB from Oklahoma, but they should take Joe Thomas OT from Wisconsin or trade down to get Levi Brown OT from PSU or even Paul Posluszny OLB from PSU. Anything else is stupid. They will not take Smith unless he drops like a rock into the 3rd round.

This is a complete waste of time. We are trying to move up in the college world and we get slapped in the face and thrown back to the OVC days with this. Why bother. Hey, Buchtel has a great record this year, maybe we should play them too.

Judging by his stats he looks like a good tackler. That is something we really need.

Hey Capt' I love your new picture. The funny thing is that she looks just like someone I used to work with. I'll have to send her the pic. Scary thing is that it might be her.

So I guess we should start scheduling IAA teams to begin each season. It would give us a nice tune-up game before we start our harder schedule. Doesn't sound like there is much of a downside unless we lost to one of them.

I think that it is pretty evident by reading the list that winning football games puts people in the seats. Look where Miami sits in the list then look at where Central Michigan is at. Remember how many "fans" Miami had during the Roethlisberger seasons? If you can consistantly win, they will come!

GP1. That makes too much sense. It would never happen. You would think someone at the top would bring in a "real" marketing executive from the outside as in from a business not from another university.

Let me start the process for the Marketing Dept. First: Target the students. Have special things for them. Special pregame activities, giveaways, anything! 2: Target the alumni. What would persuade an alumini to attend games and/or buy season tickets when the general public can attend for the same prices most of the time. Those are the first two steps. There are enough students and alumni to fill all of our venues. Now get moving on it!

All great points. I guess I should have said that both coaches coached with schools that are now part of the MAC. Anyway, it's too bad that the MAC hasn't grown into a bigger player in major college football. There have been so many great coaches at the current member schools over the years. If only they could've stayed and not gone to the big-name schools. Wishful thinking I guess.

It's funny how both coaches previously coached in the MAC. Remember, Tressel was an assistant here before going to YSU. Now that I think about it, I believe Tressel was here right before we joined the MAC, but still.

He talks about his size as if he is big, but I would consider him about average in that catagory. His speed is nice though.

I agree that Biggs was also significant. He was next on my list, but not my top 5. I think that injuries to Kennedy and the other RB's was the problem in that area more than Biggs being so much better.As far as Harvey, I think he will be tremendous, but he is not at that point yet. Give him one more season and he should surpass Hixon as one of the best.

We've all talked about how disappointing our season was this year. There were high hopes since we were bringing back so many starters. I think we overlooked who we were losing though. We lost 3 key starters that turned out to be more significant than we realized. Hixon who we all know was huge both as a receiver and returner, but the other two were Rohr (a tackling machine) and Swiger (a clutch kicker you could count on). These are 3 of the biggest reasons we didn't match or exceed last years performance. Does anyone else agree with me? Mostly I've heard everyone talk about the other 2 keys to our bad season: No discipline and bad tackling. Together these are the top five reasons for the disappointment IMO.
