  1. Let's hope we can use it for Jeter. He is the guy we need to focus on right now!
  2. Nice article. One thing is for sure, he will be in good shape and well conditioned when he steps on campus!
  3. I agree that we need to offer him. I've seen him play as well. Timmyboy is right. He is very good at both QB and LB. He has great accuracy, but as The Hip Zip said, his receivers weren't great and they dropped many perfect passes which should have been TD's. At LB he has a nose for the ball and he is a good tackler. I'm not going to say which position I would prefer him to be as a Zip, because I want to see how he does as a Senior at Ellet with a better receiving corp this coming season.
  4. I missed that one. Hopefully they run it again.
  5. I guarantee those shirts would sell fast Dr Z.
  6. To me, the writer sounded like he thinks Army and Akron are at about the same level. He kept mentioning similarities in terms of new players at QB and O Line. He sounded worried about Harvey, hoping he wouldn't return until after we play them. I didn't get the impression that they are taking us lightly.
  7. Very true, however we need to include the new 08 recruits and walk-ons to this list (whoever they may be). Figure between 2-4 more players.
  8. I think you hit it on the head. Gonzaga thinks that we would be a more winnable game for them than a Nevada which beat them last year. I hope this happens so we can get the chance to get a nice win against a "big name" mid-major!
  9. Dambrot said at the banquet that they were attempting to get a Big-10 school to agree to the Zips playing them on their court, then them playing us at the Q the next year. He said every school in the Big 10 shot it down. Looks like the Big 10 Fears the Roo! That's a perfect example of how the BCS schools are holding down the mid-majors. We offer to play on their home court 1st and then, instead of making them come to our home court the next season we give them the opportunity to play us on a neutral court and they still refuse. It's complete BS!
  10. Of course I would vote for Akron to be one of the teams. The most obvious choice would be Notre Dame since they are an Independent. I guess the other two could be Marshall and Memphis.
  11. Anyone remember Bizarre's? I wouldn't call it my favorite bar back in the day, but had some good times there. I would say the Townhouse was tha best back then.
  12. I would love for us to move into the Big East, but I don't see it happening. They are overcrowded now as it is.
  13. So where would we go? Could we actually move all sports to another conference? If not, we could do something like what Temple is doing now. Play most sports in the MAC and move basketball to the A-10 Conference or maybe Conference USA.
  14. I heard something about Gonzaga contacting us about playing them in Seattle next season and then for the following season they would come here to play us at the Q. Anyone else hear anything about this?
  15. Special teams is JD's baby this year and the spring game left me underwhelmed. If they really plan to use the roll out punt, we will be losing field position with every kick. You have a kicker moving right or left, depending on the kicking leg, which interferes with proper set up and contact. It looks more like a qb kick. Instead of 1 deep back, they have three with the kicker rolling and kicking. That is poor fundamentals for a punter. The snap is enough worry for the punters. I could envision a whiff trying to punt this way. The biggest problem I see with the kicking is the inability to block at the line of scrimmage. There was too much penetration during the scrimmage. Coverage last year was also a big problem. I believe and I'm hoping that the "roll out" punting was just used because of the low ceiling in the field house and not an actual plan to use during the season.
  16. I like how it only says "former Pittsburgh transfer". BS!
  17. Well put! I think they would have to be out of their mind to go for a QB with the #3 pick.
  18. It will be interesting to see what rocketfootball has to say about this one.
  19. You have to remember the fact that there is nothing else to do in many of those areas and the schools don't have much else to offer fans except basketball.
  20. That would be great! I think that he would move to the top of the list to start if that is the case!
  21. I agree. I think he would make a fine addition. I believe he will become a wonderful coach one day.
  22. No one wants to here about tOSU here.
  23. And if we run an option offense the QB's will be getting hit a lot during the season. They better be toughened up now and get used to it.
  24. We would have to use McDaniel at the FB spot. He's the only one with decent size. In 08 Johnson could be put there (only if we run the wishbone) because I believe he is about 230 lbs and he is a strong inside runner.
  25. The Browns would be making a mistake taking Quinn at #3. Everytime I saw him play against a good team he looked like crap! They have much bigger needs to fill with the #3 pick than a QB anyway. Charlie isn't the next coming of Joe Montana, but at the same time who knows what he can really do. Remember Troy Smith won the Heisman this past season. How did he look in the National Championship game when his O line decided not to block? Reminded me a lot of Charlie running for his life with the Browns! Memo to Browns: Draft Peterson at #3 and draft at least 3 OL in the first 6 rounds of the draft.
