anyone who thnks that mack rhoades and jd brokenhart have sympathetic connection to AKRON are morons...they are using AKRON as did FAUST to pad their resumes and move on..rhoades doesn't have any connect with the fans and is a young punk who wants to make money...brokenhart is trying to live out every insurance salesman's dream by coaching football...ya the new stadium may be nice be neither rhoades nor brokenhart have anything to do with it..its WAY above THEM...get 'em out of here!

Zippy Rulz, sorry but you are a ...well you know...all Rhoades and Brokenehart are trying to do is pad their resumes and move on..if you think otherwise....neither one has any connection with Akron and could care less when they leave here..Rhoades is a needle ....who came from the wilderness..Brokenhart is not ahead coach...his assistants are people who could not get a big time job elsewhere...we are being PIMPed so that RHOADES and Brokenhart can move on...GOOD RIDDANCE!

first, thank god for Bryan Williams or Brokehart and his stiff's would look like the REAL PUTZES they might be...DO NOT BLAME THE PLAYERS...THIS ONE IS BROKEHART AND HIS STAFF...PERIOD...we need to start turning the screws on the AD to stop kissing BROKEHART"S behind...if YOUNGSTOWN could get Tressel who was an assistant at Akron..we can do better than Rhoades, Brokehart, Fleming etc etc ....

all i can say is thank god for Bryan Willams running ALL over the field or this team would have been left in the locker room in the 2nd half...now for the Defense that was supposed to carry the team but has given up points and yards like they never played the game...prior to the season everyone picked this D as one of the best in the MAC...experienced players back with some decent talent...when experienced and talented players vastly UNDERACHIEVE where do you look?maybe we need to start looking at Jim Fleming and J.D. Brookhart...it is obvious they are not getting these players to perform at the levels they are capable of...i know the coaches won't change now but assuming the D continues to detrioratethe AD needs to look real hard at the coaching abilities on this staff...its beginning to appear that some of the staff is not up to coaching at the D-I level...when you start hearing a head coach always blaming one play here or one play there during a game it may mean the coach(es) aren't doing their jobs during the game...

was it me or did Davanzo Tate look like he had his helmet on backwards all night..? didn't seem he could cover anything except the grass under his shoes...

after Temple, NO ONE here should wonder why most peple around here are Ohio State fans...their coaches can manage a game and the players can can play their system...

hang this one on Brookhart and his staff...if there was ever a better example of their inabilty to manage a game i have not seen it in 4 years...the coaching was tentative...so were the players... some of the situational play calling on offense was absurd...like running deep reverses when you are gaining yards running right at them...and the D? well it looks the same as it has for all but one game..no changes...acres of yards to a QB who runs then get beat over the top...

saddest part of all this is that the rest of the season becomes a whole lot less meaningful...ZIPS had a chance to ride at the top until they got to Miami and BG...now they stare another sub .500 season in the face...don't look now Buffalo is rolling...

coaching and playing to WIN for FOUR quarters starts with the coaches...playing not to lose starts with the coaches...sending that message to the players starts with the coaches...the players see the play calling on both sides of the ball...they see the STATUE standing behind the line of scrimmage watching the clock run down and allow a review of a pass play...the players play to expectations of the staff during the game...Brookhart and his staff sent the message in the 2nd half that we will play not to lose...good for Temple...they coached and played 4 quarters to win...if you don't think there are some serious questions about the abilities of Brookhart and his staff to handle a game after this pile of crap go watch a coach who is better than .500 after 4 years...is it 22-22 now?

as i said before...the scenario is..the ZIPS HAVE TO win out at home...beat Buffalo AND steal one from either MIAMI or BG...preferably from whichever team wins the Miami- BG game this week...then its eithe MAC Champeenship or a Bowl

RACER, thank you...anyone who doesn't think there is a difference in the way teams line up on Defense is either completely unable to be critical for whatever reasons or is absolutely non-knowlegeable about the game...there is another word but i refrain...why in HE double toohpicks do you think coaches play different defenses..if they are good coaches they play the D that fits their personnel...not the other way around...so then WHY DOES THE ZIPS D GIVE UP SO MANY YARDS to a whole bunch of different teams?

surfing the net today and found some pages with ALL the power rankings..had to be at least 30...the ZIPS look respectable according to: 1)WOBUS: NCAA RPI RATINGS..ZIPS ARE-31... 2)CLAASSEN-ZIPS ARE-53... 3) SORENSEN-ZIPS ARE-52...LOOKS LIKE MOSTLY ON STRENGTH OF SCHEDULE since CLAASSEN has them as the 11th toughest in the country..i think Sagarin had them at 18...as long as OSU,UCONN and Indiana keep winning..o and as long as the ZIPS keep winning they are so far in good shape for a Bowl...BEAT TEMPLE!

:angry: looking at the recent Temple score and what LITTLE the ZIPS D has done, its time for the D to WIN a game...don't think that the talent level of a former Big East school is that much lower if lower at all than the ZIPS...lets see the D give up 2 TD's or less and the O rush for 150...thats the formula the rest of the way...

the problem IS the defense if you don't have the right players to play it! darn it!...ok lets look at the 3-3-5 from the scout's perspective...it should be good against the pass because you normally have a lot of people off the line...but...when you run the base D with 3 down D-lineman there are all kinds of holes that need filled...once the D line take their lane to the QB the field opens up at the line because there are more O line than D line...HENCE NO PRESSURE...AND if backers,corners and safeties drop there are acres for any type of delayed run or QB scramble..to get any kind of pass rush or to plug those holes you have to send at least 5 but probably 6 just to outnumber the O line...that leaves holes in the middle of the secondary especially if you play man on the corners...RUN RIGHT AT IT until they bring up a safety or keep backers in the box..then throw over it...thats exactly what is happening...

OK I'll give you that but it still hasn't translated to PRESSURE!

we are ALL nuts about what happened Saturday..with good reason...but lets hpoe the coaches look at the ENTIRE game...the Defense is going to have to win a couple of games evetntually...but not by giving up the acres of yards they are now..its obvious some athletes on the roster are coming out..Williams at RB...Andre Jones at DB...the coaches haven't figured out the IDENTITY of this team though..JD nad the O still want the easy score too much...it looks to me like the O line has come together and is capable of jamming the ball down other teams throats if given the chance...the D still has no run stoppers...speed is fine if you use it to pressure...but other teams can run over speed...control the ball on offense...pressure on defense...at leats its fun to watch...go ZIPS

looks like Central is the big dog right now...the West is still better than the East, top to bottom...just because testicle tech got womped by Central only means they got beat by the best team in the MAC...WMU,Ball State and Cental will beat each other up... BG and Miami have the edge on the ZIPS because Akron has to play them on the road...

don't assume they will be 'dogs' coming into the Bowl if they win out in the MAC..they WON'T...get real...
