IF this is true Matthews has a great pedigree if nothing else...defense oriented..lengthy assistant AND head coaching experience...coached under Jim Donnan(Marshall...Georgia)...has consistently been .500 or better at JMU... AND the best part...he's from TEXAS...now would a guy like this want to come here just because its D-1,state of the art practice facility and soon to be brand new stadium?...unless he thinks Akron is a graveyard,why not?

right now Scout.com has Temple's recruiting class has best in the MAC...Brookhart's current recruits are way down the list...

I don't see a problem with going for two on the last TD. It made no difference if we had made the two or missed it (as we did) in the final score. I have questioned Brookhart's reasoning at times, but I am not at the point where everything he does is wrong. The quarterback situation is a problem, neither CJ11 or CJ17 is the answer at this time. This loss, as with last week's loss to Miami, is representative of our entire season.only saying that 1 point was obviously not going to make ANY differernce...CM was moving the ball at will...the Zips HAD to score more...

uakronkid, good observation...i remeber watching the Faust era come to an ignominious close also..Faust was an overly hyped high school grade coach...Brookhart is an overly hyped, pseudo assistant..if he is seeking out faust WE are in trouble next year...USE THE NEW STADIUM TO RECRUIT A COACH WHO HAS A GRIP...

just got back from the BOWL...SOMEBODY PLEASE TELL BROOKHART ITS OVER HERE( how stupid to go go for 2 on the last TD)(and once again no CJ7 when it was ONCE AGAIN obvious Jacquemqin had no clue)...SOMEBODY PLEASE GET JACQUEMAIN OUT OF HIS SCHOLARSHIP(he is truly clueless most of the time)...next year is going to be ugly AGAIN with this crew around...oh ya...thankfully Davanzo Tate is gone too...see ya next year!!!

Whether its KC, CJ11, CJ7 there is WAY too much uncertainty for next year to be any good. Ya ain't gonna win with QB who has never taken a D-1 college snap! And unless one of the CJ's miraculously transforms between now nad next September,that position is the 500# gorilla in the room...sure would like him to be your friend,but ya just don't know...lots of losses on the D side mean lots of holes there too...wait until when?!

to paraphrase an old TV show...your wife is wise beyond her height...IF the ZIPS were 8-3 consistently and beating the best teams in the MAC you could play on the runway at Fulton AP and draw at least 20K...when you can't beat Temple and are only .500 or worse in your conference you are INSIGNIFICANT...

Racer is right CJ11 is no longer a soph...he has not shown significant improvement AND he will NEVER be MOBILE...JD said it himself you need a mobile QB!...hell the ZIPS can't handle one...too bad but i think next year is also going to be a LONG one...

WE DO NOT NEED A HIGH SCHOOL COACH IN HERE!... REPEAT ...GET SOMEONE WITH COLLEGE COACHING EXPERIENCE!!!

Brookhart said it on the pre-game last night...teams HAVE to have a MOBILE QB to give Defenses another weapon to plan for... why in the name of good coaching decisions does he insist on playing a statue at QB...the decision to put CJ7 in the game WHEN he did was pathetic...it penalized CJ7 and the team...it was an act of desparation made because the coaches poorly managed the first 3 quarters...

Good teams and good coaches find ways to win these kinds of games...the others are 4-7 and waiting until next year... again...most of us have already commented over the past 3 months about the bad coaching decisions...bad QB play....bad defensive play(at least up until last week)...the promise of Williams and Allen...etc,etc...we as fans of the program now have to hope that the President and AD do the right things for the good of the program after 11-23-07...be at the BOWL on 11-23-07...
