  1. Maybe not. But that's insane to send out your FG team to set up and attempt a 70 yard field goal.
  2. I suppose the "Fire Bowden" talk stops for a week, with a 3-0 record and sole possession of first place. Who would have thought that we could take this defense, and hold a team to 13 pts. that was scoring 41 per game. Amazing that we didn't score for 3-1/2 quarters, and still won that game.
  3. Yep. That's my dilemma too. You have to already pay for that channel as part of your package, or it denies you access to it when you try to log in from a device.
  4. I wonder. Looks like some sort of drainage system clog. Hope someone finds a snake before tomorrow.
  5. This just out yesterday, about NFL's "cratering" ratings. Can't believe CNBC is actually reporting it this way. https://www.cnbc.com/2017/10/12/nfls-anthem-protests-may-be-starting-to-hit-foxs-bottom-line.html As I said a couple of days ago, it's a bad, bad sign for everyone carrying on with this nonsense when the Networks who bid on these TV contracts are watching their share prices drop.
  6. Balsy, All I can really say anymore is that I'll love to see your perspective on all of this in about another 20 years.
  7. Yep. I should have said HUNDREDS.
  8. Zach, I'm not sure how old you are, but I think you just illustrated the root of the problem. You need "proof" because you don't know who pays all of the taxes in this country? Or, where the money comes from that creates businesses and jobs? Clue: The answer is not "collect more taxes"
  9. Exactly. I'll say it for the 100th time. People won't flock to Akron Zips sporting events because we're winning more games. They will start flocking to Akron Zips sporting events when we're winning games that matter.
  10. Maybe what you're not getting here is that "our generation" already knows that you can't make things better by taxing the death out of the people who already satisfy nearly all of the country's tax burden, have the most disposable income to put back into the economy, and represent the money behind the businesses that create jobs. The only thing people of "your generation" hear right now is, "tax the rich and we can get more free stuff". Once you get old enough and have owned 3 houses, and get to your desired success level in the world by occupying executive positions or owning portions of companies, you'll grow wiser to why this way of thinking is so counterproductive. Then you can wonder why you allowed people like Bernie to brainwash you for so long into thinking otherwise.
  11. Well, we showed that we can beat the worst teams in the league. Now we'll see if we can compete against some of the best. I don't expect to see anything close to what we saw from WMU offensively a year ago. I just want to limit them enough so that we have a chance.
  12. Translation: If you don't understand liberal logic, you must not be listening to or reading the right information. I feel like I've been so terribly misinformed for the last few decades.
  13. Thanks for correcting your knowledge of the situation. I guess you're really not the "clueless newcomer" that you self-described yourself as being. Ironically, I happen to be one of those people who also has all of my tickets, passes, etc. because of a corporate commitment.
  14. Balsy, I have a feeling that you were one of those people in all of the video montages floating around the internet of people crying, screaming, and pounding their fists on the ground because HIllary did not get elected. Your generation seems to have a problem whenever they don't get what they want. But once those people reach their post-college years, mommy and daddy probably aren't around anymore to always protect them, give them their "safe place", and assure them that they are right. Please come to grips with the fact that the election is over. We chose Mr. Trump as our President. In 4 years, you'll get another chance to change our leadership. Writing paragraph after paragraph of your own logic on an internet forum is probably not your best use of time in attempting to get people converted to your way of thinking.
  15. Yes. 94zipgrad posed the question about whether we had a chance to get to 15k, and whether being in the hunt for a title was what was needed to surpass the required number. And asked if he was being a clueless newcomer. That's what started the current path of the conversation, and that's what prompted my response that you saw. So, I'd say it's not accurate at all to assume that everyone here knows what's going on.
  16. Bottom Line. If this is the year we are required to hit our 15k, we will find a way to get it done. To some of the naive posters out there, this doesn't include finding ways to get the required people to line up at our gates and buy tickets. That isn't going to happen. Meeting the requirement is all about what is going on behind the scenes to "sell tickets".
  17. You're right that the actual tax code could never be applied in that way. However, Obama's tax chief did get busted for targeting Conservative groups for audits.
  18. Dude, this is WHACKED logic, beyond belief. You're showing that you're a typical, brainwashed lib. Even though you state otherwise. Of course, the people who make the lowest amount of money, and pay NONE or very little taxes, benefit very little from a tax cut. And rightfully so.
  19. You missed the part of your own article where it said that it's "improved" since the disastorous start of the season, but is still down 7.2% That's a huge number, my friend. And you've probably missed all of the stories about how people were tuning in just to see the beginning of games, to entertain themselves by seeing what these rich athletes were going to do, and then switched to other programs. Maybe you weren't an economics major, but here's more data to show you that this kind of idiotic behavior affects more things on down the line than you might acknowledge. Slumps or volatility in stock prices among the Networks that carry the games means that executives could get very nervous about bidding the astronomical amounts for TV rights that we've seen in the past. https://www.forbes.com/sites/mikeozanian/2017/09/23/nfl-broadcasting-stocks-slump-as-protests-rise-and-tv-ratings-slump/#3b3e353e4eec At the end of the day, this will all eventually go away, because nobody, including the players, will allow their wallets to drain over their continued tantrum over Trump winning the election.
  20. We all had to know that the NFL's own concern for MONEY would eventually make some people get wise. But, I think the next step is going to be outrage from a few players because their "rights are being violated". There will be a few guys who will be defiant, and continue their behavior. The league might fine them, but they will join Colin as the poster child for the great American liberal revolution.
  21. Actually, I think we learned from this project that the entire construction work, welding, etc. was done right inside the building. I'm sure I erroneously thought that these things are made somewhere and transported and raised at the facility. And vice versa with a disassembly.
  22. It was quite frustrating to watch our offense fail to extend the lead during the entire middle part of that game. Ball State could have easily gotten back in the game at any time. That goal line stand was HUGE. Other than that, I like what I saw today, but that was admittedly a fairly weak team we were playing. Lets hope this game was at least the "practice" we needed for much tougher games down the road. It's nice to have 3 wins in early October.
  23. Much like the Troy thread, I guess we might have to look back sometime and see all of the posters who claimed that Iowa State was crap. I don't usually like to compare opponent to opponent to opponent. But, you have to feel a little better about our home loss to ISU after seeing this. I also wonder if the Suckeye fans paid much attention to the team who trounced them at home looking like a very average football team today.
  24. Nope, that's a new one. Just wait. There's a couple posters on here that will certainly provide us with the "real story" of why it really didn't happen (as if they know), or call you "jealous" for mentioning it.
