  1. They are likely using Youngstown's Facilities because they are owned by Denise DeBartolo York and John York, The DeBartolos are from that area.Alex is a great kid and helping out with my Fighting Irish... DeBartlo's are big in Youngstown, as is noted in the previous post. If they aren't using the stadium, they will be using the WATTS which is nearing completion, 98% complete. Worth noting the DeBartolo's joined Jim Tressel and Anthony Cafaro in donating to the $12 million facility:
  2. Their massive crowds will fit right in with the MAC.. 2010: 13,005/game. 2009: 10,887/game. 2008: 12,383/game.
  3. Ricky had a great freshman season. His development after that season never continued to progress. High majors were on him early. Akron was on him early. As he failed to live up to expectations his "stock" continued to drop. Low majors like YSU are his best bet or better for him a division two program. Ricky could be a diamond in the rough. No mid to high major program seems willing to take the chance. Example, Akron has signed a pair of guards that are far above Ricky's demonstrated abilities. At least YSU is close enough that he can get home on weekends for his mother to wash his clothes. He previously de-committed from Lehigh, which made the tourney last year. Prior to that, we were told he had the following offers: Ricky Johnson Jr. (5'9/2011) of Akron SVSM listed offers from Akron, Can't State, Lehigh, Robert Morris, Navy, and Bucknell. We were told these schools stopped recruiting him after his commitment to Lehigh.
  4. We blew games late down the stretch. -at Akron in OT -at Butler -vs. Wright State -at Wright State -vs. UW-Milwaukee -vs. Valparaiso What can you guys tell me about Ricky Johnson Jr.?
  5. YSU Boards: LetsGoGuins.com YSUPenguins.com YSU is riding high right now on our 62-60 win over the Bulldogs, Butler's last lost. It is worth noting that it was not a one time fluke. YSU was tied 79-79 into the final minute against Butler at Hinkle Fieldhouse in January as well before Butler won 84-79. We shall see if this translates into better recruits for YSU... time will tell. Sounds as though we may be landing Ricky Johnson Jr. out of Akron SVSM. I know he is small, but he is a fabulous PG. Is this kid as good as I hear he is?
  6. I love the Indians, but there is no way I would spew your board with lies like that. My source was laughing his ass off reading Indian06's posts boldly predicting those WGH kids to Akron. Who is your source? I guarantee you he wouldn't laugh at me to my face. If he's in Warren I would love for him meet me there. But I doubt he was tough enough to attend WGH, probably a JFK kid. Although I will always defend my Catholic school brethren, he is from WGH.
  7. I love the Indians, but there is no way I would spew your board with lies like that. My source was laughing his ass off reading Indian06's posts boldly predicting those WGH kids to Akron.
  8. Changed his mind? He was behind YSU all the way as I reported from my source the other day. Ian Folmar was accepted to Akron according to my source who gave me this: http://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?stor...100000020696099 Bottom line, the days of YSU losing recruits to the MAC's of the world are coming to an end. We lost out on 3 locally, Trent Toothman to Ball State, AJ Fox to Akron, and Landon Smith to Ohio. The first two were never offered by YSU and the third one de-committed from YSU after some issues with the staff.
  9. Hymes looked too slow for Div 1 IMO. He looked more like a YSU player on film to me. Exactly a player that will get us that one for the thumb. 1991-1993-1994-1997-201???
  10. Guess my sources were right and your sources were WRONG! Rogers, Hymes, Folmar, May to YSU from WGH! http://twitter.com/#!/YSUsports/status/32814506849607682
  11. Yawn... We'll see if you're talking when YSU signs 4 WGH players Wednesday and Akron signs Andrew Hampton to preferred walk-on status.
  12. Talked to the guy who told me former WGH LB Davion Rogers (3-Star to Michigan) appeared to be heading to YSU. The next day the Youngstown Vindicator reported it. Since he is a WGH guy, he has some sources up in Warren. He said Hymes and Folmar plan to fulfill their commitment to YSU. Hearing Folmar may have to sit out a year to get his grades in order. That is what Cardinal Mooney OL, Eric Franklin, did this past year. He too had an offer to Akron. Hymes just picked up an offer to Miami (OH) as well.
  13. Akron has offered two YSU commits each from Warren G. Harding High School: RB Demond Hymes : http://letsgoguins.com/recruiting/football...hymes-ysu-offer OL Ian Folmar : http://letsgoguins.com/recruiting/football...olmar-ysu-offer These offers are within the last 24 hours.... fyi.
  14. Hey Zip fans! Did any of you hear anything just now? No? I didn't think so. I didn't come here to tout anything. I don't even know if this kid is good. I am just letting you know about recruits that YSU and Akron each have offered. We have a list of 90+ recruits over on LetsGoGuins.com with a number of Akron recruits... Check it out.
  15. Spotted this today and figure you can add it to your database, although he didn't commit to Akron. Alfred State Community Community College Safety Sir Aaron Taylor. Chose YSU over Akron: http://letsgoguins.com/recruiting/football...-ysu-commitment
  16. If he kicks FG's here, I would hope some student would have a big sign with a hole in it that said "Foxhole." He could stand on the rise between the posts when kicking at that end. Fox is an excellent punter. He has a rocket leg and can kick the field goals, but I am not quite sure he is a Division 1 college football kicker. When it comes to punting, Rivals said he was the best in the state. He was probably Mooney's best player this past season which is saying something. Another Mooney punter plays in the MAC, John Penza up at Toledo. Fox: Great punting recruit, OK kicking recruit. And please know I say OK because I saw him attempt a 48 yard field goal at YSU vs. Boardman and it was just horrible. Went way left and hit midway in the back of the endzone.
  17. I'd give my left nut to beat any Big East basketball program, under any circumstances. Also noticed that Hunter Yurachek's new school beat LSU last night? Nice win for the Chanticliers. In all fairness it should be pointed out that the Captain has three testicles and losing his left one would make him more closely resemble a normal human being. It should also be noted that the Captain is volunteering only to relinquish his left nut, which, in most men, hangs lower than the right. So to secure a win over a Big East opponent, our fearless Captain is really only willing to give up the "low hanging fruit," so to speak. We went up 20-3 and 31-13 on NC State in the first half, led 34-21 at half, and led for most of the first ten minutes of the second half, but a late NC State run pushed them ahead of YSU 67-50.
  18. YSU has not been playing well as of late. They blew 2nd half leads at UWM and UWGB to lose, then got annihilated on the road at Robert Morris by 30. They needed a win badly and struggled all night over a solid NAIA team. We have NC State tomorrow. Pray for us lol!
  19. They aren't playing to their potential just yet this year. If they do get it going, watch out. In other news, it won't be long before Cleveland State finds itself in the AP Top 25. They are fabulous this year!
  20. HL is 10-4 vs. MAC Cleveland State over Can't State Youngstown State over Buffalo UIC over Toledo Butler over Ball State Loyola over Western Michigan Green Bay over Miami (Ohio) Akron over Youngstown State Ohio over Valparaiso Western Michigan over Milwaukee Cleveland State over Akron Youngstown State over Toledo Central Michigan over UIC Detroit over Bowling Green UIC over Toledo
  21. Detroit is very very good. They have some mammoth size down low and that Eli Holman will give your big guy, Zeke?, a run for his money all night. The coaches son was a top 10 ESPN recruit: Ray McCallum Jr. that had offers to play at Kansas, UCLA, etc. etc. In my eyes, they have the talent to win the HL this year. Live Video Feed from the Horizon League Network: http://www.horizonleaguenetwork.tv/live/1858 Of course, I have to cheer for my HL brethren! Go Titans! I think Detroit wins by 6-8. For whatever reason they haven't played to their potential just yet, so Akron will keep it close.
  22. YSU is now 4-1 on the year. As surprised as everyone is in town by our early success, it would appear that the W you guys got over us was a good one.
  23. Just wanted to throw this one out there: Cleveland State rolled all over St. Bonaventure tonight 69-51 to go to 7-0 on the year. Butler lost in OT to Evansville 71-68 to go to 3-2 on the year.
  24. Maybe, if you are generous, 15-20% of that.
  25. Have your eyes checked after you see Butler (I noticed you never answered my question about Evans). I never saw a reply and I've seen Butler four times this year buddy. They are very good, but so is CSU.
