"ALL" things.....The WBB team gets off to a good start (obviously against an inferior opponent) but at least a positive move for the Kest crew. MSOC win in the semi-final round and play Sunday afternoon for the MAC championship. Volleyball sweeps the season series with the team from Portage County. Our football teams is still the weakest link but I am not embarrassed about being a Zip Fan this weekend!

We are getting close enough so the 10-day weather forecast includes the first few days of the tournament. Forecast for the 14th and 15th is Low 77, High 90, partly cloudy, 20% chance of rain. According to Alex, this is pretty typical for this time of year.

There are 50 VIP seats currently on the floor. 25 opposite the visitors bench, 25 opposite the home bench. I lost your thought on moving these 50 people. I can't visualize your proposal. Describe for me where these 50 people can fit " by the Zip bench thereby allowing students to take over the sidelines opposite the benches." It is pretty crowded on the floor already. I am struggling to understand your proposal. I also can't figure out how you can move the press row to the track and meet the fire code and handicap access requirements in the Ohio building codes. I appreciate the students frustration that they get lousy seats. I still think a new arena is the only true solution.

A combination of maximizing revenue from the lower bowl, a poorly designed facility and a wise rule in the MAC leads to our unfortunate student seating situation. You can't blame the university from trying to maximize the revenue from our outdated facility. The rule that the seating behind the visitors bench is designated as the visitors seating area is a good rule in my opinion. Very dangerous to seat the home team fans behind the visitors bench. Except for the Convo at OU, every home team student section in the MAC east is end zone seating. At every venue in the MAC the visiting team fans are located behind the visiting team bench. The Rowdies are one of many MAC student sections on the baseline. Let's get a new downtown arena that solves the problem so this issue fades into a bad memory.

R4R44 - I want to argue with this sentence...."Money is understandable, but when there are PLENTY of open blue seats, there's no reason not to move a few people over.". There are not "PLENTY" of open blue seats for sale. Some are available in the west level upper sections but you seem to believe that the lower bowl has not sold well. Totally wrong. Some isolated seats are unsold and you are welcome to join the paying customers in buying yours and enjoying it for years to come. Moving a "few people over" to the few unsold seats would have no atmospheric change at the JAR. While you are at it, why not try and fill the unused seats on the club level at Infocision Stadium with students?

"Multiple Team Events" (or MTE for short). Division 1 schools can not play in the same multi-team event twice over a four-year period, but any school may participate in a MTE every season if it so chooses. Up to four games in one MTE counts as a single game within the 28 game season maximum. Net result is you can play a total of 31 games per season if you schedule a four game MTE.

It runs as a local commercial at least once each evening on WKYC during the Olympic coverage. Tressel is the spokesperson. I could not find a copy on uakron.edu or Youtube.

As of today, 22 people have put deposits down on the Puerto Rico trip put together by the Athletic Development Department and Chima Travel. Chima has over twenty additional coach tickets reserved on the United flights to San Juan. This is a pretty good deal considering it includes air fare, hotel room, all taxes, tips, resort fees, ground transportation and game tickets. I have stayed at this hotel (the last time we played in Puerto Rico) and it is a good location and well maintained property. Make your decision about joining us before the tickets are gone.

In the third installment, coach takes the players to the City of Can't Police Department and lets them sit in the back of a cruiser so they are more comfortable during their first arrest.

Usual boring restrictor plate race until the last 15 laps. Amazing how Smoke could be half-a-lap behind the lead pack at the half way mark and come back to win after starting in 42nd position. Nice night for Stewart-Haas. A win for Smoke and a 5th place finish for Ryan Newman. But still a boring race for the first 145 laps.

The OJ at Lawson's was OK. Their French Onion Chip Dip was (and still is) the best.

I was provided with a flier and made the original post based upon it. I didn't even check to see if Gozips.com had been updated. I'll send a note to the staff today to get the info on their website. Glad to hear you are coming back to support the event.

Hey Captain, have your reserved your foursome yet. One of your continuing gripes has been resolved. The football golf outing is back. Fliers are in the mail. They have a title sponsor this year, "Leaf Filter", a gutter protection product. Reserve early if you want to attend.

Can you provide a link to this bid. When I searched the purchasing dept active bids page I did not find a residential dorm project on the active list.
