  1. sounds like he could make a great addition. but does anyone know how this guys charactor is? Does this kid have a good attitude, and will he work well with the cast that we have now?
  2. I thought that i read somewhere the other DL who is thought to be ready to sign with the Zips is 6'6 ansd 295 lbs. Is this true captain. and also....what does everyone think of the move of Zach Anderson to the DL? Im not sure I like it, Guard is the position he has grown up playing and he was rated as one of the top 100 guards in the country coming out of HS. Keep him at his natural position.
  3. Thanks for clearing eveything up jerry. i was going to get frustrated with these people saying they already know who this kid is going to sign with, when I have been telling them that his options are open and he would really like to check out the zips. ha ha
  4. The cleveland browns drafting andy would be a very logical thing, and we all know that cleveland doesnt make the most logic choices.... but i am hoping someone realises this kid has a ton of upside. He is the 6th-10th best guard in the draft and he has only played the position for 2 years.imagine had he started playing in HS and then at Pitt, before he transfered to Akron..... he would have probably been then best guard in the draft. But things worked out for him and i wish him the best...... even thought i would personally like to see him play with former Zip, Chase Blackburn and the New York Giants
  5. I expect for the offinsive line to shock some people. I have been hearing from a few people that they are starting to gel well together. It will be fun to see if the line will be better then last year. I know this years offensive line is alot taller and more athletic then the offensive lines in the past. Schepp will be the leader of this group. It will also be good to see our our Defensive unit works together, and if our DL is able to plug up the holes and force the RB to bounce things outside where our LB and DB will be there to clean up. Anyone else going to go an participate in the skills challenge, i seen that anyone from the age of 8 up can be involved.I might do it, but I dunno that the roof is high enough for my Punting
  6. according to his dad, things are wide open. and he is just waiting for the zips to offer. He said all they are waiting for is an offer from the zips, so i am thinking that if we offer this kid, he will be a zip.
  7. There was a WR on the same team who has signed a full ride to OSU and there is Mike Adams (6'7 310lbs) who has already signed to go to OSU on a full ride also. But after that it looks like trey is their next best player. He would be a great addition to our team, im really hoping that he is a Zip. I know im going to push JD to watch his film if he hasent and offer this kid.
  8. both scout and rivals dont start their ratings until the senior season starts, the most they give are 2 stars to the top players. If you look at mike adams ( #1 lineman in the country, and teammate of trey's) he is only a 2 star, but once the season starts he will jump up to a 5 star. we will just have to wait until the season to see how many "stars" he gets.......but remember you cant always go by them, because aj hawk was only a 3 star coming out of HS and ended up as the best linebacker in the country.
  9. I dunno about that. his dad an him seem pretty interested in Akron over the other schools. He said they are just waiting for akron to offer, thats all. Hopefully we do cuz as we can see from his highlight film, he is a football player, and even better...he is a great kid (according to the things his dad has told me about him) he goes to church on a regular basis, he attends class and have a high GPA, he has never been in trouble with the law, he volunteers.
  10. if you seen the article it didnt have anything to do with the program itself. it had to do with the coach. Her and the coach just didnt work out together and someone had to give.... and the coach isnt leaving after being here for only one year, so niki made the choice to leave.
  11. wow, i am in shock. i have talked to her a few times and never once did she indicate that she was going to be transfering or was unhappy at akron.... but i wish her the best wherever she does decide to go.
  12. nd make sure everyone shows up in the 35 degree weather for the street carnival they are going to have ha ha.... why not just move it into the JAR?
  13. His dad has been on the board saying his son would be interested in playing for the Zips, and i finally got a chance to watch his highlight tape all the way thru. WOW this kid is a ball player. Watching his highlight film reminds me alot of when i was watching Harvey's Highlight film his junior and senior year in HS. If we have a chance to get this kid.......LETS DO IT, he could be the game changer we need, all i can vision is this kid, playing along side Gary Pride, Bryan Williams, Alex Allen, Dennis Kennedy....... wow, there would be alot of speed and athletism between this group! His dad told me his 40 times times when he went to the rivals.com junior day, and they are as followed....40: 4.4 - 4.36 - 4.37Shuttle: 4.1Reps @ 185 = 14Vertical 36.2and His stats from His junior year.......REC = 51-766-6Rush = 20-288-4Punt ret = 10-156-2

  16. If the Zips ever donate things to be auctioned off for charity type events? The local youth football program i coach for is looking for people to donate things that can be auctioned off to raise money to get uniforms, helmets an things like that. I know last year Cant State donated 2 sideline passes for the game against Minnesota at Dix stadium, and they also gave us tickets to that game and then donated more tickets for the Cant and Akron game. That is one thing i can say that Cant does do... they are always willing to donate and give to different organizations. Heck i tried to get Akron to donate tickets to our organization for a few games, but they wouldnt. Anything would be helpful.
  17. but we would have to find a way to add an additional 50-60 million onto the price of the new stadium. I am completely against it if it involves wolstein having any part to do with it. If he does it would cause more scheduling conflicts then anything. if there were a way to find the money to build it within the university and not have to go to and outside group (such as wolstein) then id be a little bit more for it. it would help the problems of having to build a new basketball arean in another 10 years. Plus they could have concerts just as they did at the rubber bowl years ago. there are alot of good when it comes to building a domed stadium, but not if you have to find partners to help fund it such as wolstein
  18. i agree. thomas is the answer to alot of their questions. they need someone big to watch charlies blindside....thomas isnt big, but HUGE! get thomas!
  19. i think it is more along the lines of him hating on us zips, because razor wouldnt write the colum for him. he asked razor to do it an razor said no, but he would allow him to use part from his blog, and he didnt like that so he is trying to bash the whole school, and team...... what a piece of crap.
  20. we would run into alot of scheduling problems if that were to happen, so i dont see it even coming close to happening.
  21. Romeo played in the "all star" game yesterday or the other day an he didnt do all that bad considering there were some very good players there. He was a starter and he has 8 pts, 2 assists,2 TO, 1 block (i believe he had a block)and 1 steal in 25 minutes. he had a very good weeek of practice according to several scouts. Doubt it will push him into the NBA draft, but it will give him a better chance of catching on with an NBA(DL) team.
  22. OH, you mean POY in D1? Cuz I know LeBron was POY in D2 or 3. and he was also MR.Basketball also. so you must have ment POY in D1
  23. couldnt have been POY that was the same grad year as LeBron i think, but i could be wrong.
  24. what about overseas? or does everyone feel his career is over?
  25. is going to be at the spring game on april 15th. he said he is very very excited and cant wait to be up here officially and playing for the zips. Got to love seeing recruits saying that. This guy is a playmaker and can take it the distance on any given play with his 4.3-4.4 speed might soften the blow if harvey decided not to rejoin the team.
