Considering enrollment is expected to hit 30k in two years, and new dorms are being built, look for a drastic increase in athletic funds and student support. What's Toledumps enrollment, like 16k?Msopher is really making his school and fans look bad. I'm starting to think all Ohio schools except Akron are scum. This homo obviously has no life but coming on the zips board to take cheap shots on us for whatever reason. Don't you have some thesis to write pal?
-
You know what? They hated us when we were bad too. We were the butt of their jokes. So, I can really care less. We are not in this conference to make friends. We're here to win championships, and it's a lot more exciting being a fan of an athletic program in a period of growth.

That shouldn't have even been a foul. It's obvious the refs were Can't grads.
-
I think the refs will be better to us in Cleveland just for the reason of getting us to the finals against Can't. This would really advance the tournament and maybe get the local media on board.

I was one of the lucky students that got in with the Rowdies, and we all did an outstanding job. When we were down by twelve, nobody was ready to give up. Guys were urging us to get louder. Akron hit a home run with the fear the roo slogan and the formation of the AK rowdies. This group is the driving force behind creating home cour advantage. I would love to see OU in the Q cause I think we can take the O-zone, especially if we all sit together rather than being split in half, but that probably won't happen. You guys should have seen the waiting line an hour and a half before the game. It went out all the way to Buchtel Commons. It was fun chanting anti Can't slogans to prospective students walking around. We got some real die hards in that section. No question the Rowdies played a part in the zips comeback.

GO BACK TO TOLEDO TROLL

Another interesting fact here:If we win on Saturday, I believe the three seed is ours due to tiebreakers. From a strategic standpoint, that is where we want to be because I don't want to see Can't until the finals. If this is not enough to motivate our team Saturday, than our season is lost.

Buffalo simply had more to play for last night. Buffalo was playing for pride, as well as their survival in the tournament, since you need that first round home game to have any chance of getting to Cleveland.Looking at our situation now, we clearly have more to play for than Can't does on Saturday, and our play will reflect that. We are playing for seeds but most importantly bragging rights. The crowd better blow the roof off the JAR. (maybe then we can get a new bball arena) This game can either be a disaster, or it can be our coming out party where we find our momentum by beating the regular season champs before the tourney. Let's peak on Saturday.

I agree that the Can't game is everything, and possibly the team does too, and maybe that is why we saw such a poor performance. We lose that, and I think we are done. Who can't get excited for this one? The JAR is going to be packed beyond capacity and the zips will be duking it out with our hated archrival.

I will add this comment by Dambrot as well. This was before the game too."We want to peak in the MAC tournament" "You don't want to peak now"

UAM did a great job at UA, but this is definitely not the end of the world for zips athletics. My first impression of Rhoades is that he is well liked, has a good relationship with his coaches, and most importantly will deliver the stadium project. I'm sure he has plenty of contacts after being in this business for quite a while, and maybe it is better for him to get his own guy in there. The key to continued success at this University is LP. We lose him, and then we really have issues. As long as the boss is around, we will continue to grow and reload with the right personel to get us to the point where we are not a stepping stone any longer.

I heard KD's pregame and postgame interview. Before the game, he was saying things like the seed does not matter in the tournament and Can't gets the 1 seed, big deal. He also emphasized how hard it is to play on the road and win. In the postagame, he didn't seemed phased about the beating. Perhaps the zips were sort of looking past this game to the Can't game? I mean come on. We beat that same bulls team by almost 20 in the JAR and now we lose to them by double digits? What do you all think?
-
And now we sound like Ohio fans.
-
What the heck was that? Horrible....Those 20 wins will mean nothing if we can't win when it counts. Our football team lost some doozies of games, but they won when it counted.
-
Same recruiting over and over. We will have NO size next year. None. We need a JUCO post player now if we want to compete at all next year. More and more 6'0 guards, with an occasional 6'7 white boy to top it off. We'll only go as far as our recruiting progresses.

Warzynski's still ugly & OU SUCKS!!!

And they actually think they can beat us in the quarterfinals??? They are horrible. I would be embarrased losing to them. Thanks for nothing OU. -
K ENT-AKRON...Lebron will be in the house!

Can't fans unite at the JAR. Bring your frisbees and hacky sacks. Roger that, we found the troll! -
Macbbs is a joke. They all hate Akron and whenever you try to start a positive thread, a select few wise guys turn it into a flame war. Not to mention the site wreaks with Can't fans. It's like a messed up fraternity.

I think it's hilarious that they were encouraged by this game. Well, using their logic, our team should win the MAC because we "only" lost to Ohio and Miami on the road by three points. It's quite encouraging when teams consider coming within twenty points of the zips in the JAR a moral victory. They beat us 8 out of 10 times on a neutral court??? Pleeeeeeease
-
Win or lose, OU fans are and will continue to be arrogant fools.
-
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!! I HATE BASKETBALL!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Okay, so Can't won yesterday and a win tonight would keep us tied for the lead. Zips have had a lot of trouble in Millet Hall and Miami is on a roll. Athletic wise, I think we match up well with them. We also had a nice rest after the debacle in Nevada. Either we lose our motivation and tank or we take our thumping as a wakeup call and step up our play.A win in Oxford would be huge.

K-ent Off-season Football Training

That cracks me up considering their fans gloat over Dambrot's "We wanna be like them" quote. -
Scheduling a I-AA team is not the way I want Mr. Rhoades start out his tenure. That is sooooo small time. Can't does it every year just to get a win on their schedule. They are the poster boys for small timers. Get us a 1-A team in the rubber bowl, any team. Just don't send the wrong message and kill our momentum.

All I can say is WOW. No facilities in the MAC would even come close. There is no question we would be in position to dominate the conference for years to come. After a serious reality check with the hoops team against Nevada yesterday, it is great that there is hope that someday zips athletics will be able to compete with the big boys.
