Two lousy years of recruiting really showed last last night. We know Dambrot can coach, but he's got to give us the players to get it done. I am not getting down on this team at all, and this season is far from over, but if we ever want to start competing with the Loisvilles and Nevadas of the world, we are going to need a lot better than Bubba Walther, Nate Linhart, John Rybak. Quade Milum, etc. I had this game as a loss as soon as I saw Nevada's roster. We got smeared by a bigger, faster, stronger team with some big time athletes. Plain and Simple. Clearly, Dambrot still has a lot of work to do and it all begins with recruiting. I have said this over and over again.

Show no mercy Rowdies. They are just as arrogant as the sweaters. They think they are so much better than us. Make them never want to come to Akron again. Do the "skeletor" chant to O'sham that got AW Hamilton of Marshall so angry last year.Or maybe "Where's your Hair"? I think they might be on to something when they talk about the JAR. There are many things we can do to the place without having to undergo major renovations. I sat in the upper deck bleachers one game and I can say that it made the game lack that intimate feel that basketball is known for. The track needs to go. Also, I like the idea of creating permanent seating in the upper decks and creating walkways underneath with restroom/concessions and have tunnels in the stands that lead to them. I also hate how the corners of the facility are clipped. It really secludes fans in the upper endcourt seating. The athletic department needs to make the JAR more of a basketball arena than a multipurpose facility. With the field house and new practice facilities, I don't see why this cannot be a reasonable expectation.

The captain is right. This article left a bad taste in my mouth when I read it. It is simply their way of responding to many of the vocal zip fans on this board who have complained about coverage. What we are going to get in response are comentaries from idiot OSU junkies saying that Akron sucks, nobody cares about the MAC...yadeyadeya. We have done absolutely nothing in basketball, nothing at all in recent history. Where is that big road win this year? We lost to OU. We lost to Can't. Will we pull one off in Oxford? At Nevada? I hope I am wrong, but I think we are in trouble for the tournament. Is there anyone on this board who thinks this team can play at least three games in a row? And that is assuming we get a first round bye. I think we are going to run out of gas and thus our season goes down the tubes. Boy I wish Conyers was playing. That would be our fourth guard and I bet he would be a really good one. Ditto for Wood I hate losing to Can't and, if anything, I hope this amplifies the nation's hatred for Can't State and make them wish they never set foot in the JAR in March.

I have to agree with QZ. What gives nation??? The hoops board is always dead. 2800 in attendance for Buffalo was outright pathetic. Buffalo plans on selling out against us for goodness sake and we can't even break 5k? But we can bring 10k all the way to Detroit? It's time to shove football aside already and get behind this team. We'll judge the recruits when they are on the field. We got a major major game on saturday against a team that clocked us twice last year.

This is what I don't understand. Is there something we know that is not getting out to the media? Akron is nowhere to be mentioned on any online sources even as remote consideration. What gives me hope is the academics factor which is mentioned. Sign with Akron now or head to prep school?

I am skeptical about this happening. How did this guy obtain the information? I think the word "consider" is just that. Akron probably crossed his mind but this kid realize he can go to some great BCS schools. We can say the same thing about Chris Wells. Supposidely, Wells was considering too.I mean come on. How bout a nice cup of Fear the Roo

I keep saying this and I will say it again. We need a dominating post player or two. We need more size. And most of all, we need athletes, guys that can fly up and down the court, guys that can jump, and guys with some meat on their bones. Ohio was bigger, faster, and stronger than we were and ultimately that was the difference in this game. When the 3's are not falling, you need to go to an inside game and we don't have one. We would be unstoppable especially with the way Dambrot has us playing as a team if we would step up our recruiting.

By overall record, Can't is lower than Akron and OU. But if I had to pick the best in the league right now, it would be Can't. You gotta give them props. They are playing real good ball right now. But nevertheless,

The seeds planted for a rivalry? But then again that means OU needs to actually beat us in something.

It also appears that perhaps we are being put recruited by several MAC schools? A year after bringing in arguably the best class? After winning a championship to boot? Maybe nobody wants to play in the rubber bowl? Clearly we are lacking somewhere.
