  1. CMU couldn't even hold on to a very average at best Boopie Miller.
  2. You're on the money. Until yesterday, my expectation for the Zips was to win the MAC, and I still believe that will happen. It was also to win an NCAA game. After what I saw yesterday, my expectation for the NCAA may be out of reach. JMU struck me as a team with the physicality and mentality to win an NCAA tournament game. Yesterday I watched Hunter Sallis (Gonzaga transfer) single handedly keep Wake Forest's NCAA hopes alive scoring 33 against NCST. Without him, they are on a one way track to the NIT. I didn't see a single Zip take charge of the game. Do they have a Wally Szczerbiak? I'm old enough to remember him going off for Miami and playing great in March Madness. The MAC has had other good examples with other teams. Akron has some solid players, but no Wally Szczerbiaks. We just don't have a guy with that type of killer instinct.
  3. That would be 57% of the arena. My observations are they are getting less than 50% for most weekend games and all weeknight games. The games are fun to go to, but we all know how overinflated NCAA attendance reporting is.
  4. Wait until they go 3-5 in their final 8 games.
  5. I went to the Wake Forest vs NC State game yesterday. For the record, I paid $20 for parking to watch two teams that will not make March Madness. The arena was only 80 percent full for an afternoon start.
  6. Thanks, but UofA has moved on.
  7. Disappointing loss in the way they lost. I thought they had more in them. Need to physically toughen up if they want to win an NCAA game.
  8. Respectfully, you're grasping for straws. His recent success isn't very successful. He hasn't been successfully since Oregon. Right about now is a good time to admit getting hired because of the good old boy network isn't a good reason to hire someone. Ryan Day is finished at OSU. There is no energy in the program and a 60 year old isn't going to bring any energy. In fact he is probably coming because being OC is a pretty easy job compared to HC, and the money. Day is a smart guy and a great coordinator. That's about the extent.
  9. A good fit for what? Nothing you said says he's a good fit for the job he was hired to do. In fact, it's been a long time since he was a significant coach producing high level results expected at a football factory line OSU. Two words come to mind..... washed up.
  10. I thought Bill O was a stretch. Now they take a washed up Chip Kelly?
  11. OSU just had their brand new OC leave to coach a horrible BC program. That's a bad look for OSU. If you think it looks bad now, wait until the Alabama transfers who came with O'Brien bail out.
  12. When you have a coach as obviously good ad JG, there has to be concern. His getting hired by someone else presents a level of complexity at his age for him and another school that you may not get with a younger coach. For the school, is a 52 year old coach what they are looking for? I don't know. He's sort of on the edge. For him, how appealing is the location of the next place? NE Ohio is a good place to live, especially at his income level. He seems like a happy guy. I also believe he has school age kids. The schools around NEOhio are very good and disrupting his kids schooling may not be something he wants to do.
  13. I was praying to the good Lord that he would choke on one, but par for the course for a Zips fan, my prayers weren't answered.
  14. That's not the real tiebreaker. The real one is they have a calculation for which MAC Athletic Director can inflict the most damage to the institution they work for. The one that inflicts the most damage wins.
  15. Second game in a three game stretch against strong opponents is good tournament prep.
  16. It's part of a bigger problem. He should be upset about the casual approach the team took to the game once they achieved a big lead.
  17. The 1970s called and wants the guy on the scorers table hair back.
  18. They have picked it up, but was too casual with the lead earlier.
  19. They have picked it up, but was too casual with the lead earlier.
  20. Zips let their lead get to their heads. Now they have a fight on their hands. This isn't a killer instinct.
  21. Akron's effort is excellent.
  22. Nice crowd. Free parking?
  23. Nice crowd. Free parking?
  24. This is really all about football so I'll put it here. https://sports.yahoo.com/sec-big-ten-uniting-to-tackle-pervasive-issues-in-college-athletics--pressures-are-mounting-172832810.html G5 schools had better get together and come up with their own solutions, because whatever comes out of this won't benefit them.
