Not a real fair comparison. Program was at different levels while each coach was/is here.

But given the choices JD is the obvious answer since he owns the biggest victories in school history.

I hope in a few years the answer changes. It does make you wonder what the other two could have done

with the facilities we have now though.

JD had the biggest win no doubt, but he also had some of the worst losses. I am not sure Faust knew what he was doing when he took over a IAA program that was transitioning. Owens had the most athletic teams, sadly that didn't always pan out but they seemed to have a little talent on both sides of the ball, including good special teams where as JD "the Special Teams Coordinator" always seemed to get worse and worse.

Owens typically lost the big games. I give him credit for Marshall and Navy.

Ianello would kick a field goal when he's down by 17.

Faust would lose his best player to a Breaking and Entering arrest the night before the game.

JD Beat Syracuse, NC State and NIU (Championship).

I vote JD.

Now now. If there's one coach on that list that we can rely on to win one game, it's Ianello.

YOU SUCK!!!!! I was just about to write the same thing.

And you had the choice of any of our past 4 head coaches roaming the sidelines for that game.... Who's it gonna be?

I didn't realize icoach was a past coach. When did he become a past coach and has a replacement been located?

Wisful thinking. :D

I believe JD Brookhart was very crafty at scheming up ways of winning or at least competing in the face of talent deficits. So, on a one game vote, I definitely take him.

Could he build up a program progressively? History doesn't seem to support it.

This also begs the question...

Can we call Ianello a coach to begin with?

one who instructs or trains <an acting coach>; especially : one who instructs players in the fundamentals of a competitive sport and directs team strategy <a football coach>

I don't think he has done any of that. Definitely hasn't down anything with fundamentals, competitive, or strategy.
