This was an absolutely great performance by the zips tonight. The whole team played a great game in general.

Obviously, as the boxscore shows, Brett Mclannahan and D-Rob both had a great game, but the wow player for me was Quincy. He was all over the place, scoring, deffending, rebounding and showing some NBA moves.

I also extremely enjoyed seeing Egner, Dakotah, and others come off the bench. While Dakotah may not be ready to play significant time in games. Josh seems to be itching to play and i would love to see him more often.

I have only one concern, yeah I know... even when we win by 40, I still have concerns; this team still lives by the 3 and dies by the 3. I hope we have a game plan for when we play deffensive teams who take away the three (like Can't) or even for games when the open shots are just not falling.

The question is: when/if a team crowds the arc area, do we have what it takes to punish them inside and have Zeke, B-mac, and Cventinovic take over a game?

Just back from BG. What an awesome performance!! Could be the most complete game in the KD era. Best road beatdown I have ever witnessed...

When can you say that everyone was fantastic. Nitro was lock down on D and could not miss from distance. Several he tossed up without looking at the rim.

Quincy spelled him and was just as good. One rebound he grabbed with his right hand and shot it with his left.

Zeke changed 20 shots tonight.

Alex drove the lane like crazy and Roberts was great as well behind the arc...

Everyone contributed in my kind of game. Nothing like a 40 point lead ....

A very enjoyable ride home indeed...

Based on that performance, next year we should get to choose if we want to play them in that dump again or in the new arena...

Hey now, that "dump" has treated us well as of late. I think we need to show it some respect. ;)

I just woke up from a 4.5 hour nap and just saw the score. WOW! What happened!?!? 35 point win? Incredible. Great job Zips! This could be the best turnaround of KD's career at Akron if we can win the MAC. Awesome, awesome, awesome. Go Zips!

These wins don't happen in a vacuum. Hats off to KD for getting the boys ready to smack down BG, a respectable but nothing more of an opponent. No better time to get it all together. Fantastic performance!

I would love to find a good route between Bowling Green and Akron. The durn GPS is little help.

Drove up via the turnpike and US 6. Long, boring drive. Came home via US 6 and US 20 to US 250

and US 224. More cops than you could shake a bagel at. My radar detector was squawking both ways.

Thank God for cruise control. US 20 and Clyde always spooks me. I think its where bad cops go to

die.

The rain of threes was delightful. BUGS had their zone packed in to stop Nik and Zeke. They gambled

that they could contain the Zips on the perimeter. Steve nails a trey early (at the deuce) and it was

game on. Nitro went krazy. The Zips had more open looks than dandelions in a field.

The rare times BUGS went to mano mano Nik and Zeke killed them. They never stayed in man long.

Some one commented that we were playing eight against five. All evening to be honest.

Tacky, tacky, the BUGS pep band riding Quincy for an air ball when they were down thirty-five,

KD began yanking starters with ten to play. Could easily been over a fifty point spread. Certainly

fattened up Zips batting averages.

Best part of the show: Down a zillion BUGS gets cute and attempts an alley-oop. Bardo intercepts

the lob in and reverses. The Zips quick pass up court and do an alley-oop of their own. Successfully!

I agree with you. Great game tonight, but still how will we fare in a game when the threes are not falling like that? I wonder if KD is planning on going inside more to Zeke, Serb, and even McKnight once the MAC tourney starts? In the back of his mind right now he has to be thinking it is best to put as many different things on film as possible for our tourney opponents to have to prepare for. After tonight I think teams will guard our outside shooters a little closer, that should open up the inside game a little more as well.

We were getting a lot of open looks because of the way we were being defended. The next game could be an entirely different story. But, there's always reason for concern when it appears that 3-point shooting is your primary offensive strategy. We certainly had BG's number this year.

We have been getting those open looks all season. The difference is that now we have started to make a better % of those shots. BG's extensive use of the zone defense plays right into our strength if we make the wide open looks it gives us. My dad always said that the MAC is a guard oriented league. If you have good guards who can shoot, your going to win alot of games in the MAC. The reason we lost in the championship game last year was because OU's guards were red hot from the 3 point line. Same reason those guys knocked off Georgetown. We have 5 guys who can shoot the trey. I hoping for a month long streak of lights out shooting. :P

We just shoot out west on the turnpike and take 75 south to BG. Very simple and very fast.

I got my answer today. It was great to see the Zips able to win without every other shot being a 3.

Not to mention with little help from Zeke Marshall. We are a deep team, if we don't heave up bad shots and we play good defense, we are better than anybody in the MAC.
