We'll start with some fun facts:

- Western Michigan has now won 5 in a row and 8 of their last 9 since losing to our Zips on February 9th.

- Akron has defeated Western Michigan in their last 5 matchups (including the MAC Tournament). Western Michigan's last win over Akron was on 2/6/08.

- Akron has played Western Michigan in the MAC Tournament Semi-Finals three times in the last five years (2006, 2008, and 2010), winning each game.

HUGE BREAK for Can't, being able to avoid OU in the semi's.

even bigger break for us if BSU beats Can't.

Even bigger break no matter who wins that BSU/Can't matchup. I like our odds over either of those teams better than I do OU. OU is by far the worst matchup in the conference for us.

I don't want to start looking past WMU right now. I think they're good enough that if they're on and the Zips are even a little off, they could do to the Zips what BSU did to the Bobkitties.

I will say that Can't looked extremely focused and totally in control last night against Buffalo, a team that had previously destroyed the Flushes in Buffalo and played them close at Can't. The Flushes were both energetic and disciplined, took control of the game from the start, and never let Buffalo get back into the game. So while the Zips may match up a little better against Can't than OU, the Can't I saw at the Q last night would be tough for any MAC team to beat.

Well, at least the fans have gotten the matchups we wanted so far. Wouldn't mind seeing Ball State take out Can't as well (but then would they be this year's "team of destiny"?). WMU is not the patsy of typical West champion teams of past years but they are definitely beatable by the Zips. Still happy to see OU out of the tournament though.

Zips need to take care of business. BSU and Can't are both way better match-ups for us than O-Who, so it really doesn't matter what happens on the other side. I just want to get to the finals. That's the no. 1 priority.

Zeke, Nik, and Bardo need to stay out of foul trouble. We need to make our lay-ups. Diggs needs to either sit on the bench and watch or actually contribute positively this game. This is serious crunch time. Get to the finals, and you have a shot at the NCAA tourney after an awful start to the season.

LET'S GO ZIPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SOOOO PUMPED! BEEN PUMPED ALL DAY AT SCHOOL, NOW I'M LISTENING TO SOME GREAT MUSIC AND IT'S JUST ADDING TO THE ADRENALINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh, and go Ball State. :screwks:

Diggs had some very positive contributions on the offensive end last game. He just needs to be more disciplined on defense.

I've been repeatedly listening to Monster by Skillet on youtube. I'm ready to go! :champs:

Diggs is a threat to drive to the basket and score when we need 2 points late in the game...I think that's why KD has him out there.

QD 4-4 FG for 12 points to lead all scorers in 1st half v. WMU

Quite frankly lost a good bit of respect for the Broncos program last night. To have Douglas go nuts like that was one thing, then to have Stainbrook intentionally lay out Roberts was another thing, but now to go to ncaabbs and the Broncos board and read them whinning about how the MAC has a great conspiracy to get Akron and Can't to the finals and how the refs were so biased and unfair against the Broncos, it is just embarrasing. To be quite honest, WMU should be thanking the refs for keeping the Broncos in the game. The foul issues down the stretch allowed Western to close in from the line, particularly after the under 4:00 timeout. And Broncos fans, please give up the "Bo Borowski hates Western" brigade. I can search every MAC fan site on the net and find a similar thread about Borowski. There isn't a fanbase in the conference that enjoys watching him call a game.
