Blue & Gold
ABJ article As Zip Watcher said, Bradley's a fine gig. But I still think this is embarrassing for the MAC.
Blue & Gold
Video Tour of Bradley's new arena. Gorgeous, $50-million facility. Only seats 4,200. I was a bit surprised by that. As far as a renovation goes, maybe that gives the JAR's capacity some perspective?
GoZips
Congrats to KD for knowing that the U of A gave him a second chance on coaching at the university level and for being loyal to the U of A. I'm not sure he has many other options other than loyalty. He could probably pick up a gig like Bradley or something like that, but there is no difference between Bradley and Akron. He wouldn't be taken as seriously at a school like Bradly as he is at Akron for a lot of reasons. KD has is great at Akron and isn't going anywhere. His team wins. Even when they don't win, not many people are paying attention. There are a number of people who, for whatever reason, are fascinated by him coaching LBJ in high school. The CMU issue wouldn't be ignored at another school. He makes a ton of money for a MAC coach, especially an Akron coach. If KD left Akron, he would be subject to the meat grinder that is college coaching. He isn't going to do that. Being King at Akron is a lot better than risking becoming a joker at another school. Some of you can yell at me now claiming I pick on KD. I'm not. I think my analysis is fair and is the kind of thing that would be written in the media if Akron had a decent media with decent writer instead of the Terry Pluto knock offs. GP1, I have long thought that you are a putz. Thank you for putting it in writing.

GoZips
Bradley is a great gig .. in a town that supports the Braves as the main game in town. All hail Gino Ford -- the new King of Peoria. It snows in Peoria in August.

GoZips
Best wishes to Coach Ford on his career move. I hope that he remembers his time as a MAC coach and breaks down the anti-MAC barrier so common in the MVC by scheduling Akron, Cant, Ohio and Miami. Cant will not have any difficulty finding a good coach. Just praying that Jeff Boals does not back stab the Zips.
ZachTheZip
Dan Hipsher is looking to return to a coaching job in Ohio. Could be Dayton, could be Can't, could be OU if Groce moves to Dayton. If he goes to a MAC East school, I will be unable to control my laughter.
Zips Win!
Actually, I'm sad to see Geno go. I thought he proved to be a good regular season coach, but did not prove anything in the tournament over three seasons. I liked Can't a whole lot better with Geno at the helm than taking a chance that they find a gem of a replacement . Ditto for Coles at MU. I hope he stays there for many more years... If he gravy trained a medioce run into more dough, great for him. There will probably always be an OU gig in the future as long as he doesn't fail miserably. But since I disagree with GP1's opinion of KD, the Dayton possibility does concern me.
Dr Z
...the Dayton possibility does concern me.What concerns me more is the guy that would be hiring a new coach. I don't trust that he has my best interest at heart. I would feel better if KD hired the guy that replaces him. I believe KD has my best interest at heart. ZachTheZip
If Dambrot does go to Dayton (he won't), we need to throw together as much money as possible to get Jeff Boals. In my mind, he's the only acceptable replacement at this point.

Zip_ME87
http://www.centralillinoisnewscenter.com/n...-118749494.html Thanks for posting this. I'm sorry to see Geno leave Can't. I hate to admit my age, but I know his father Gene who was a coach at my high school, Tuscarawas Valley, before moving on to Cambridge [and also taught the driver's education class (back when driver's ed was taught in high schools]. I thought it was great when Geno became an assistant in the MAC and then became Can't's HC. Best wishes to Geno. end of trip down memory lane

Quickzips
I have a really difficult time seeing Dambrot leaving for someplace else. High-major teams are looking for young coaches with proven success in NCAA DI (think Shaka Smart). The Mid-majors that can outspend us are looking for young assistants from the big programs or young coaches from programs that are severely under-paying them (think Geno Ford). The key to all of it is youth. Unless you're a Coach K or Roy Williams or Jim Boehiem level coach you aren't going to see significantly bigger offers at the stage of your career Dambrot is at. Combine that with his connections to UA and I just don't see him going anywhere. I could be wrong, but I don't think I am.

I highly doubt Zeke will have anything to do with his decision in the event he does get an offer from some other school. He also didn't stay with Lebron at AVSM either.
