CincyZip
yeah I dont get it, but whatever. It sure would suck to start the season with a loss to Coastal Carolina. I think we will be fine, though. I hope, and think, we will be OK. But like I said, this goes way beyond basketball. It is now about what is right and what is wrong, justice and injustice. K92
I am hoping at some point this year we will get to see a no-holds-barred cage match to settle who is the "ultimate basketball insider" once and for all.
Dave in Green
I've personally heard no evidence that anyone deliberately did anything to try to get any Zips players to miss games. To the best of my knowledge a technical error was made somewhere in the bowels of UA that may result in two players having to temporarily sit out despite having done nothing wrong. If it was the result of an honest mistake, then there was a lesson learned and everyone involved can move on a little wiser. If it proves to be a deliberate act, then UA has an internal problem that needs to be appropriately dealt with at higher levels.

I don't really understand how someone would be able to get inside the workings and cause them to sit out a game. At the same time however, I wonder what happened to create this problem. And how was it not fixed in time for them to make the trip?
tpsjugglerdude
So who is going to step up to fill the void? I think we may see a lot of Pat and Zeke on the floor at the same time since we will be a little short up front. I hope they stay out of foul trouble. I think Chauncey might have a big game. For those "in the know" is this technicality only one game or will they miss PR next week?

I just heard that someone deep in the bowels of the University failed to issue these two their University bus pass, but the problem should be fixed by the start of the preseason tourney. zen
Bus pass? Psh! I'll chauffeur them What else do they need? A hall pass and a field trip permission slip.

Are you saying we had a problem complying with the NCAA's Bible-sized book of rules?

GP1
@ Dave.....Nice! I've never thought of it that way, but the enforcement arm at the NCAA is more like the Vichy French than Nazi Germans. Sort of a group of witless bumblers taking orders from a bunch of goons. Good people get harmed in the wake of their stupidity. Thanks again for the paradigm shift.
Dr Z
@ Dave.....Nice!+1 French will tell 99% of Zips fans all they need to know tonight. Tune in. PS If anybody thinks they are missing out on some top secret information, your not. It's actually pretty boring.

Class of 82
I'm looking forward to the battle between our Chauncey and theirs --> Is it just me, or does Chauncey look a little like Foghorn Leghorn after a few years on "The Cream"? akzipper
Having Harney and Tree out may not seem like a big deal now, but it could be. Add in significantly decreased minutes for Abreu and it's a big loss. An attempt at an at-large bid is already a longshot and it makes EVERY SINGLE GAME of the season important. Think if we lost to Coastal Carolina and Ok State how much that would hurt our chances. Not to mention a 1-2 start would hurt any type of "excitement" our fanbase has for this season. Captain Kangaroo
The now 2-4 Fighting Beach Shop Strip Mall GoGo Bar Steroid Chickens just got waxed by Boston U 74-44. Not looking like a "quality loss" for the Zips.
