Dave in Green
Jays are 6-12 on 3-pointers while the Zips are 1-8. If that evens out in the second half, the game gets close. Also surprising that the Zips outrebounded the Jays in the first half, 16-15. Rebounding hasn't been a Zips strong point this season, so this is a good sign if they can keep it up. Dave in Green
Third foul on Rico early in the second half could be a killer.

bUAkronG
Yes, this game is over. Much like the football team the outcome can be decided before halftime. I think in your mind the game is over before the team even takes the court. Just a case of being outmatched by a superior team today. Tough game for the Zippers. McDermott is 6-7 from 3?? Insanity. LZIp
Done watching. Looks like we have to win the MAC to get to the dance. Any outside shot at an at-large is out the window now.
akronzips71
One comment on the feed: Both my laptop and XBox (daughters) are getting a very low quality, but for some reason my Android tablet gets it perfectly. That was the case on the last game on espn360 as well. So you might get a better result using an Android tablet if you have one. Of course, that does not help us win. phil
We keep our o for whatever against ranked teams. I really thought this would be a competitive game. Our 3 point shooting was terrible. I also thought that Bentacourt had a bad game turning the ball over and taking some wild shots. I guess that is to be expected with a freshman playing before 17000 people for the first time. The killed us at the 3 point line. By far the best team we have played. akronzips71
has nothing to do with espn, and everything to do with your devices/internet. That is possible. The laptop and XBox started out top quality, then it went down, especially in the second half. It could have to do with my cable. It is raining out here. At large bid to the dance for the Zips has been gone for a long time. 2 rebounds for Zeke. I don't get it. He is not that good. All he is good for is complaining and whining to refs. As soft as Ivo Baltic. OhioU lost to Robert Morris. I don't get it. RMU had a guy that went 8-8 from three and 10-10 from the field. RMU played the best game they have played in a LONG time. zippy5
He takes himself out of position for rebounds a lot by attempting to block shots. Nature of the beast with big shot blockers.
Captain Kangaroo
If we'd have played them at the JAR we've have only lost by 3-or-so. Very much like playing VCU. Those uppper mid-major programs are just flat out better than us. Every year I get teased into thinking we've moved up...I'm a sucker. Maybe I'll try to rationalize a positive by looking at guys like Kretzer, Betancourt and Forcythe who played big minutes despite being Freshman, and figure we have no business playing competitive with a Top 15 team... The thing about playing a Top 15 mid major vs. a Top 20 Major is - You can't sneak up on a Creighton. They know the Zips and respect them. A team like Florida State or Mississippi doesn't know Akron from Gannon, and can be beaten when overconfident. Forcythe is a beast. We can't defend the perimeter. That's about it. Please beat Detroit and CSU. CSU is down. They're at the JAR. But Waters has Dambrot's number. I guess I'm looking forward to that one as a tiny step forward, should we win. That's about it. Huge problem. After nine years, KD shouldn't have three freshmen playing in a meaningful game like this. The development of the older players should have separated them to the point there is a huge difference between first year and upper class players. The problem is the development of players, or the lack there of. To illuminate the problem is to shine a light on a part of the program we are not shining a realistic light on. Stale. GP1
2 rebounds for Zeke. I don't get it. Me neither. Zero offensive rebounds. A seven foot player, high school all american, one time mac tournament mvp, etc. should have at least ten rebounds in a game like this. Two blocks? Should be more in a game like this. If Zeke is really an NBA player, he has to have more than just Twelve points with very pedestrian stats everywhere else against top notch teams. The nba isn't ccu or unca. I'm pulling for Zeke to make the nba, but today wasn't good enough.

Funny, I look at it the other way around - the fact that we have four freshmen (Kretzer, McAdams, Betancourt, Forsythe) who are good enough to crack the rotation is a sign that our incoming recruits are getting better.
