Hilltopper
I guess since we can't get a new arena we are going to get a new look for the JAR.

Hilltopper
Am I seeing all chair backs? No. Just all blue. They are even painting the upper level bleachers blue.
skip-zip
Paint...huh? Well, at least the empty bleacher sections won't look as "bleacher-ish"
ZachTheZip
Don't underestimate how much a dark color scheme on the walls makes a difference. The JAR will look far less like a gymnasium.
Hilltopper
I think it's going to be an improvement too. It will really make the new paint scheme on the court stand out.
Dr Z
Looks better from the photos. Thanks for taking the time to post. I stopped by in August and they were painting the halls, I didn't realize they were going this far. Seems like a good investment considering the situation. Glib Shanley
Something is better than nothing.I'd have to say that you're an Olive Jar half-full kind of guy, Dave!
zippy5
It's no new arena but it does look better. I'll take it
morris buttermaker
I'm surprised they didn't paint the gym black-- to go with the uniforms
skip-zip
Morris...On a much larger and more permanent scale, you do a nice job making a comparison that illustrates the absurdity of using uniforms that don't have your colors. Could you imagine an entire arena with a color other than our own?
Dave in Green
When I was a kid first watching basketball on TV, they all had black and white uniforms and played in black and white arenas.
pdt1420
When I was a kid first watching basketball on TV, they all had black and white uniforms and played in black and white arenas. Yeah, but way back then the players were white and white.

akronzips71
Can they paint some extra points on the scoreboard?
Captain Kangaroo
I think it looks good. Slapping a fresh coat of paint on anything is a cheap way to make a big aesthetic upgrade. Will they stock more than six 8-packs of Sugardales to support "Dollar Dog Night" vs. K.e.n.t. this season? If they do, then we'll know real JAR improvements are being made.

ZZZips
Did they remove the attractive carpet from the walls of the stairwells? Did they update the Hall of Fame pictures? How about those fine looking globe lights around the upper exterior? All three give the JAR that great Polytechnical look!

skip-zip
ZZZip....I always forget about the carpeting in the stairwells. That's been all torn up for years. You'd figure that might be a rather inexpensive fix.
UAZip0510
Leave it to ZN to find a way to complain about paint.
