zippy5
I would love to see a smaller lineup at times playing uptempo with some full court pressure defense. I think with our guards and lengthy wings we have a nice roster for it. But I think we would get hammered on the boards with it being our main lineup. I do agree that we don't really have any other options down low unless we get a transfer in. I think Olajapoke and Hughes can move a lot better than Dog. Should be interesting
clarkwgriswold
Somewhere there's a 20 year old who stole a laptop or got a 3 on his ACTs that we can rescue. LOL.

He's built like a Mack truck w/ a smooth jumper. That's rare. 1 hour ago, LZIp said: ...one of Tino/Noah will be on the bench, which the new coach could very well look into as both are really point guards and not 2 guards. I hope our new coach feels the freedom to do that. I think KD may have felt a little obligation to start both Noah & 'Tino? Idk, but they're both PG's. 'Tino's a Lead Guard, but at 5'10" is awfully short to be considered a 2, let alone guard one. I'd go: PG: Noah / Antino (like you, I prefer Antino, but he's a perfect "Instant O" 6th man) W: Ivey / Parrish W: Utomi / Parrish / Eubanks P: Williams / Poke P: Hughes / Sayles That's a versatile 9-10-man rotation. Gotta pressure & push tempo next year. Edited March 29, 2017 by Blue & Gold

True, Skip, but that smallish 3-guard lineup wasn't a very good one. After our loss to YSU I posted that I thought this was going to be a disappointing year. We won a ton of MAC games by the skin of our teeth so record looked good... but we weren't. Not really.

I'm picking Isaiah Williams to start for us at PF next year. He's a stretch 4 & was a stud in high school - is 6'7" & can handle the ball & likes to drive to the hole. I think he's going to be a treat to watch.

kangaroo kid
There is a concern about lack of size next year, but I think it's important to note Jimond stepped up in the rebounding department towards the end of the season. If he can out-rebound other teams' wings I wouldn't be worried about Utomi playing the 4.
ZIPS96
No more Antino! Running out the of guards.
zippy5
Well now I officially think next year is going to be rough. I thought we had enough talent to win the MAC with what was left.

UAZip0510
Expected this, and probably one more. Guessing our new coach will be working on jucos.

LZIp
Get the young guys as much experience as possible next season and go from there. JUCOs are a necessity at this point. We have 4 guys confirmed transferring, two of them PGs, and the last PG could still do it as well. 6 players from last season are gone as of right now. This sucks. I always hate seeing people wish these players luck. You're either with us or against us.
kreed5120
To be honest I'm not surprised. I'm kind of expecting Noah to transfer too assuming he's able to grad transfer and play immediately.

I believe he's Tennessee Mr. Basketball but not sure. 6'5 " guard. Could probably play on the MAC.

Nothing irks me more than when these guys put "forever a zip" in their departing letters. No you aren't. You are a sellout to your teammates. Bye Felicia.

NWAkron
All of this doesn't bother me that much. However, this has been a huge reality check for me on the nature of what Akron basketball and division I basketball is all about. It's like that old song, "Is that all there is?"
