I don't have a great feeling about this one.

I sort of agree, because Miami looked a lot better on Tuesday night than I wanted them to look.

I like that our staff had the chance to get together and watch the Miami/OU game. There's not much Miami can do that will be a surprise.

We'll be coming off a pseudo bye-week and a win, so we'll be fresh and confident.

I think it should be a great MAC football game.

Ditto.  I completely forgot that we were in slightly better situation last year being 5-3 and having 4 straight chances for bowl eligibility.  If Ragland is indeed back, this game gets even tougher.  Miami is out of the conference race but still could win out and get to a bowl, so they do have something to play for.  I hope I'm wrong but I see something like 27-17, Miami.

I think the biggest advantage we have is their short turnaround compared to us being off ~10 days. Hopefully they spend the extra 4 days in the film room.

I feel like we've gone through a couple of recent games where we got victories, and had everything possible fall our way when our defense was on the field.  I sure hope that good fortune continues.  But, I doubt if it will.

Miami certainly doesn't have the swagger they had late last year with their 6 game winning streak, but they might still be better than us.  I just hope that their home field advantage is negated a bit by the fact that they just played a rivalry game on the road, and will have a few days shorter rest than the Zips.  I think that could be a factor that favors us late in the game when you've reached November.

I went with a 7 plus win because I think we'll have the lead by 14 going into the final 10 minutes, then hang on to capture #6.  Deltron looked mighty good vs. Buffalo, and even Mill-weed can see he should get the bulk of the carries at the outset.  And I think the D is playing well enough to not give up 3 TDS, maybe 2 and a couple field goals.

Do you think Miami will fare better attendance-wise than the rest of the MAC schools on a Tuesday night?  Or are you just going on past home field advantage vs. us at their place.  I was just wondering if Oxford is a better Tuesday night crowd sorta place.

Oh, heck no.

Let me rephrase that.   PLAYING at home vs. PLAYING on the road.

"Home Field Advantage" probably made you think I was indicating that Miami will pack their place with a raucous crowd.  My bad.

I am skeptical about winning out and OU/Kent are absolute must wins, so this is the sacrificial road game, by a whisker. And I am not totally convinced that even if D. Sands is clearly our best RB going forward that he will get the most carries/yards, for whatever unknowable internal/political reasons.

TB seemed to suggest that that would be the case (Sands has earned more playing time if not out right starting job) in his presser

Press conference notes.

• We had no idea Jackson was going to play. We didn't get the Jackson that could run.

• Deltron has a nice little side step. He has explosive plays. He makes bigger plays off the same things we have been calling. You say what's the difference in the run game, it's him.

• Tommy is efficient

• Kevin Gladney got the game ball for his TD catch

• Alvin is okay for this week.

• Our depth is getting better. Guiser and Alvin out, able to fill in with quality depth.

• Penalties continue to get better. We emphasized it more than I have ever done in my life.

Please keep doing these summaries.  I can't watch the videos and it keeps me somewhat in the loop of what is going on.  Thank you.

So, is Alvin in our out?

Alvin was out for the Buffalo game because of a targeting hit, he is in for the Miami game. Coach was happy that even with his two starting (the season) safeties out, he was able to fill their positions with quality depth.
