kreed5120 Posted November 14, 2019 Report Posted November 14, 2019 (edited) So they can squeeze a few more .500 P5 teams in? Unlike college football where half the teams are eliminated from competing for a national title before the season even begins, every team in college basketball actually has a path to a national title. Besides it was only 1 1/2 years ago that a 16 seed knocked off a 1. Edited November 14, 2019 by kreed5120 5 Quote

clarkwgriswold Posted November 15, 2019 Author Report Posted November 15, 2019 I received two wristbands with my season tickets for "free dinners" at the game tonight. Anybody have any idea what that gets me? I want to make sure to bring my lobster bib if I can get lobster. The wife's hoping for something romantic. Quote

There were no .500 P5 teams in the tournament you reference. The closest were Alabama at 19-15 and Oklahoma at 18-13. Here's some guys opinion of 9 teams that may have done better in the Big Dance than the Retrievers. https://www.sbnation.com/college-basketball/2018/3/11/17105174/bracketology-2018-college-basketball-ncaa-tournament-snubs-baylor-notre-dame-st-mary-s-usc Edited November 15, 2019 by Zipmeister . Looking at their roster, I see that SVSM grad Jabri Blount (Mel Blount's son) is on the roster. Looks like the team had 7 seniors last year. Blount, a 6-7 senior forward, is the top returning player averaging 10.1 points, , 4.4 rebounds and 1.6 assists as a junior. In 2019, the Eagles went to a third-consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance by winning the MEAC Tournament for a third-straight year. Looking forward to attending the game. Where do we rank as far as MAC teams are concerned? Quote

clarkwgriswold Posted November 16, 2019 Author Report Posted November 16, 2019 Not much of a crowd tonight. Zips up 8-4 at 16 minute mark. Quote

clarkwgriswold Posted November 16, 2019 Author Report Posted November 16, 2019 Deng "Manos de Piedra" Riak. Quote
clarkwgriswold Posted November 16, 2019 Author Report Posted November 16, 2019 This team is bad AND playing poorly. Quote

clarkwgriswold Posted November 16, 2019 Author Report Posted November 16, 2019 All of the above. Zips shooting 29%, Eagles 20%. Brutal. Quote

NWAkron Posted November 16, 2019 Report Posted November 16, 2019 Yuck. 27-15 at half. Started out promising Quote
clarkwgriswold Posted November 16, 2019 Author Report Posted November 16, 2019 Both teams should burn this tape. 1 Quote
Illini Zip Posted November 16, 2019 Report Posted November 16, 2019 I noticed LCJ and Tribble out there together. To Tribble's credit, he is playing both point and off the ball. Impressive for a freshman. Quote
kreed5120 Posted November 16, 2019 Report Posted November 16, 2019 Would have liked to have seen Akron use their size and athleticism to try to get to the basket more instead of settling for so many 3's. We had them in the double bonus so it would have been nice to take advantage. Quote
NWAkron Posted November 16, 2019 Report Posted November 16, 2019 Open shots. As usual, missing them. And NCC is the turnover machine we expected. Quote
Zip JD Posted November 16, 2019 Report Posted November 16, 2019 Very off night for the Zips. Ice cold shooting, the Zips-NCC program lists the top scorers for the Malone Pioneers, the pregame videos are too jumbled to understand, the score board had us playing Miami of Ohio for much of the 1st half and Sayles still can't box out. 2nd half has to better. 1 Quote
clarkwgriswold Posted November 16, 2019 Author Report Posted November 16, 2019 In three games this team has demonstrated a frustrating tendency to play up or down to the competition. Quote
