LZIp Posted February 11, 2021 Report Posted February 11, 2021 The MAC is down a little no doubt, but I also think just about all of college basketball is as well. Not that I'm advocating for an at-large, just an observation. 1 Quote
AkronAlumnus Posted February 11, 2021 Report Posted February 11, 2021 (edited) The MAC won't qualify for an auto bid unless a team is undefeated in MAC play or beat a top #25 team! Edited February 11, 2021 by AkronAlumnus Quote
NWAkron Posted February 13, 2021 Report Posted February 13, 2021 BG up by 9 then quickly lost it. They are one team you can't count on to help. Quote

clarkwgriswold Posted February 13, 2021 Report Posted February 13, 2021 (edited) BG back up 12!. Who are these teams? Never know what you'll get in these rivalry games. Edited February 13, 2021 by clarkwgriswold Quote

LZIp Posted February 13, 2021 Report Posted February 13, 2021 Well Toledo is about to screw my betting, but I suppose I can sacrifice my $30 if the Zips benefit. They are ice cold right now. 1 Quote
clarkwgriswold Posted February 13, 2021 Report Posted February 13, 2021 Toledo chucking up bombs like they're worth 14 points. Quote
NWAkron Posted February 13, 2021 Report Posted February 13, 2021 BG started being BG again. Up 16, took an early greedy shot. Missed and gave Jackson 3 in transition. Then turned it over. Quote
clarkwgriswold Posted February 13, 2021 Report Posted February 13, 2021 If Toledo can cut this to single digits...........................they can lose by single digits. 1 Quote
zippy5 Posted February 13, 2021 Report Posted February 13, 2021 I feel like we'd have the tiebreaker if we each win out now since our losses aren't from the top teams Quote

If you have two teams that are tied for first, the first tie-breaker is head-to-head. Akron and Toledo split the season series. The next tie-breaker would be win percentage against 3rd place team. That's currently tied so it would move onto the 4th then 5th etc. until one has a better win percentage against the other against that same common opponent. Since our losses are to the 2 MAC cellar dwellers and Toledo's were to 2 middle of the MAC teams, we come out ahead. Edited February 13, 2021 by kreed5120 1 Quote

Then Zips head to Muncie and Toledo to Canada for two nationally televised MACtion games on Friday. Meanwhile, PCCC has two cupcakes before facing Miami. Exciting end to regular season. Quote
LZIp Posted February 14, 2021 Report Posted February 14, 2021 It'll be interesting to follow as we near the end of conference play, but I wonder if Toledo is starting to wear down with their 7 man rotation. I said it before and I'll say it again - I'd feel very confident against them in the MAC-C. Let's just hope we get there and don't need to play them until the finals. 2 Quote

Teams should pay more for losing to bad teams than losing to good teams. (I know, this year that would hurt the Zips, but most seasons it would not). 1 Quote

RowdyZip Posted February 14, 2021 Report Posted February 14, 2021 Looks like the conference is going with winning percentage. So we need UT to lose another game or have some cancelations. Quote

Not sure how Pippen an his knees will hold up two games in two days. Quote
