It’s so odd. There are so many guys on this roster with proven offensive ability. They play the best defense in the MAC, some of the best in the country. Maybe they focus too much on that in practice. It makes no sense that they can this much of a mess offensively.

Lucky to be down 1 at the half. Keep the D up, I guess that’s all you can really depend on at this point.

19, 24, and now 21 points in 3 halves of basketball in Florida.  28 in the first half vs OSU.  

 

So in 2.5 games vs D1 competition, the Zips have one half scoring >30 points.  Not a good sign for a positive season.

What have been the final scores of the other games? Are other teams struggling to score in here? Or are we playing great defense and lousy offense through 1 1/2 games?

When KD was coach, we had great shooters but we were not athletic and everybody on this board indicated that Akron should recruit athletes, we can always teach ball players to shoot.  Maybe we were wrong.  (LOL)

The triple OT game between Evansville and Rice went to 109-105 or something.

I wouldn't be surprised if Trimble is 1/10 from 3 so far this game and at least 1/20 in the whole tourney. This is supposed to be his specialty..

The second half starts same as the first.  One turnover and 3 missed 3 shots.  What about those law of averages.

effing dejavu with Aziz.  I could coach the other teams and tell them the bare minimum they need to do to beat Akron.

 

There was a time when I enjoyed looking at the MAC stats and see the Zips leading in FT shooting and 3 point % and close in other categories.

 

Going the same route as yesterday's game.  Whichever laid off professor put a curse on the athletic program did a good job!

What bums me out so badly right now is this is the team we should be able to rely on. To hang our hat on. Especially after a terrible football season and disappointing soccer season. If this team can’t improve, I may lose my mind. I care about this crap too much.

yeah, closing up my checkbook.  We've tried but I swear there's a curse.  11 point difference is made up in FTs.  +7 for them and -4 for Akron.

Amen on this.  Akron basketball has been my escape from the other garbage teams I watch (Browns, Zips football, Guardians/Indians).  At least the Cavs are fun to watch this year. 

 

I can only hope I'm getting too low after the optimism I had from the game in Columbus.
