For those keeping track, the sportsbooks are favorite Akron to have 4+ wins.

On 5/24, the Over 3.5 wins was -105 on FanDuel.

Over 3.5 wins is now -162.

#FINISH ... #212Degrees ... Joe Mo and staff ... portal ... player conditioning ... players BELIEVING ... "It's the MAC! 💩" ... catdaddyp repping ...

🤑 Over 3.5 wins now -184 on Fanduel (-165 on Hard Rock).

I was on campus last week and visited soccer and football friends. One guy who has seen every football practice said Taj Bullock was ahead of DJ in the QB race. He said Taj would be the starting QB if we had to play today. Taj has done a great job in grasping the offense, something they felt DJ would have an advantage in. Taj's arm and athleticism is better than DJ's. This guy also was glowing about Lingard, the OL, CB's, and kickers. He was worried about our interior DL. Joe has the team ready to win a lot! This team will give us something to get fired up about.

Thanks for sharing. That's a good sign if Bullock is looking as good as this states. To me this would mean expectations of all MAC performer for 3 years as he's only a R-Soph. May the best man win. Varying opinions on here of DJ, and I like him, but its a great thing if the transfers we are bringing in are competing and starting. Means we are upgrading talent and depth.

I'm surprised to hear about OL and kickers looking good, but sure won't complain. Feel like there's question marks (but cautious optimism) about those units, but maybe transfers and development of younger players is boding well.  I feel solid about CB with Hunter, Tallandier, and Thomas (even though he's a freshman) brought in + another year of growth development for Durant, Lewis, Golden-Nelson, and Threatt.

A bit surprised to hear about interior DL. Feel like a mix of Lavea, Robinson, Jones, Thomas, Carter, and maybe Murphy would be formidable. Either our interior OL is going to be really good or interior DL will be an issue.  I'm honestly more worried about DE outside of Johnson.

Anyone hear why the reception got cancelled for this coming weekend?  Was looking forward to hearing from the coaches.

If I had to guess it would be due to lack of interest…unfortunately.

Takeaways from the limited clips of the 2nd scrimmage and other media:

- Seems Gathings is in line to start in SJL’s spot.

- Looks like DJI is still running with the 1s. Maybe there is also significant rotation with Bullock that we haven’t seen?

- Clip of OL Colin Lyons running downfield. He’s a guy I thought would help us last year, but was hampered by injuries.

- RB Drake Anderson seems to be in a number of highlight clips during fall camp.
- I’m guessing nothing has been settled along the DL, but the main cast that keeps popping up are DEs Ryan Johnson, CJ Nunnally, and Antonio Smith as well as DTs Kyle Thomas and Devon Robinson.
- Looks like Fish and McCoy are the likely starters at LB.

Thanks for the info. I was/am pretty excited about Colin's potential but was disappointed last year as he didn't help us at all, not knowing he was banged up.

On the GoZips dot com roster Kyle Thomas is only listed at being 230 pounds.  Is that a typo?  There's no way you can be an impactful D1 DT at 230, is there?

I'm still crossing my fingers for nice production coming from transfers Terray Jones & Lama Lavea.

I’m excited to see what the OL does this year. Anxious to see what young guys like T. Williams, K. Davis, and C. Lyons give us on the interior. I still think Williams and Davis will be starters.

Definitely a typo on Thomas. He has to be in the 300lbs range. I’d guess Jones, Lavea, Thomas, and Robinson will be the four that collect the most snaps at DT. Need those guys to pickup where Holt and Harper left off.

Wish the Zips Football Kick-Off Reception with the coaches would have taken place yesterday and maybe Mangini could have spoke for a few minutes to help fire the base up.

Not sure why the links aren’t showing the video in the post anymore. Anyway, a few good clips in this one.

- Lama Lavea doing bag drills. Impressive feet for a 300 pounder.

- Myles Walker creating separation from Darrian Lewis.

- Freshman WR Paul Davis going over Cam Threatt for a catch.

- KJ Martin out battling Daniel George for a ball.

I complain about the lack of coverage the ABJ provides, so if you complain like me, at least give the story a click when one is published 👇

Btw, story by Michael Beaven, not GT, so that's promising💪💪

Kind of a lazy article in my opinion that anyone could find the info for online.. With that said, Beaven puts out some good stuff so I’m hopeful if he’ll be covering the Zips. Honestly don’t know, does GT even work for ABJ anymore?

Come up with your best answer to each of the following three questions about this season’s football team using just your brain (***NO PEEKING at the roster or other written information sources***).

1.       There are currently 106 players on the roster; how many of them are listed as being less than 6’0”?”

2.       Which of the following three states has provided the most players to this season’s Zip squad: Florida, Georgia, or Pennsylvania?

3.       What is the total weight, in tons, of the 106 players on this season’s squad?

Big prizes may be available for the person who supplies the answer closest to the correct answer for each question (but probably not).

1) 106 * 0.25 = 26.5

2) GA

3) 106 * 215 / 2000 = 11.4
