And, speaking of OL... Kamari Landers had to go to JUCO for a year but plans to return to UA as soon as he is able. Nate Williams # 76 was in street clothes the entire game. You could see the leader that he was. He was doing everything he could to encourage his teammates, even grabbing the damn tire to put over a deserving players head. If Landers comes back he will be welcome, but he needs to commit to going to class.

I'm saying the general consensus is/was that we're supposed to have an experienced offense with great WR's along with a proven offensive minded head coach and we were just hoping the defense could perform at a D1 level and not blow it for us. I'm not good at guessing numbers, but the ABJ article said there were 8,213... but of course those would be tickets sold, not necessarily butts in the seats. Sounds about right. The lower sections were pretty full. There are always a lot of people milling around in the concourse / mezzanine. I'd say around 3/4 are wearing Zips gear of some kind which is awesome to see. I don't understand why more of those Zips fans don't find their way here to ZN.o 🤔

With that said, I found it admirable that so many students actually stuck around the entire game. Around 1100 student IDs were swiped for the game. Not too shabby, we'll see how many come out next time. The team shop, while expensive, has a nice selection as do the various local Rally House locations. As for ZN.o, I feel like the few Akron fans who want to discuss online just fire up the Twitter and see what that garbage Zips Barstool account says. ZN, though I've only been a member a little less than 10 years, used to be one of the only places on the internet you could find fellow Zip fans. Since then its pretty much been passed through word of mouth. UA administrators used to talk about ZN and its posters all the time behind closed doors, now there's so much turnover and other places to see what people think of Akron athletics.
taylormade28
OK we have no play makers on offense at all. Our WR's look like they are only good to make the catch and no Y.A.C. So now its up to the coach to make plays for them to get wide open and we don't. When i came on our official visit the Central Michigan game it was no energy at all. My son says that #2 is a very good play maker but i don't see him in the game. A change is needed bad.

Our offense is full of playmakers. Playmakers need the ball to make a play, which means the QB has to get them the ball. That's the issue. It's not a lack of talent.

LoyalZIP
I’ve heard great things about Wilson too, but that position is very deep. Those guys have delivered when called upon so far. The talent level of the skill position dudes on offense is incredibly high, they just don’t even have a game manager to help them out it all together at this time.

LZIp
I'm excited about Wilson. Definitely think he will move up some on the depth chart as the year goes on. Might just be taking him time to get up to speed with everything since he just joined the team in the summer. If i recall correctly, he got a few reps against Morgan State and one of them might have been a penalty on him. With that said, Adams and George are All-MAC receivers (Adams was 1st team and George was a snub last year). Gathings is solid and while Golden and Walker are intriguing as well, I don't believe they play the same position as Wilson. The statement that we don't have playmakers at the position just isn't correct.

Blue & Gold
On X I noticed that OL Jordan Hale-Frater (sp?) is also at JUCO. 1

Would love to hear it. Go Zips! There was no indication of the play that was run or the Nunnelly hit/strip; it sounded like they just fumbled the snap. Skozen also missed the "Are you kidding me!!?" opportunity (which ESPN nailed). Dunn had gone down to the field but they weren't connected until later. Of course, there was much excitement and celebration after the game ended.
Spin
It takes four years for a coach’s first class to be the seniors. Soooooooo, 2025? If there’s a prayer? In the words of Detective Roger Murtaugh, “I’m getting too old for this crap.”
