From yesterday (Wednesday, July 31

Great seeing Adams back in action.

I think that was freshman RB Patrick (13) juking a defender in that short clip. Not sure how much action he actually sees this year, but I’m excited about him.

Went back and watched it again. Look at Kellom (22) in the background during the mesh drill. He physically looks the part.

And Wiley drilling that FG like it’s nothing. Great stuff on day 1.

Probably a stupid question but has there been any media coverage whatsoever about camp yet? Any interviews with Joe? Anything at all??

I haven't seen anything except what's been posted on X by Zips Football.

Btw, I spy new jerseys & new pants w/ a white set 🔥

Looks like a different stripe pattern and added white pants, looks good

I like the new stripe pattern & prefer it over the stripes we'd been using the last few (3?) years.

I can't tell if the white pants are also striped but I'm going to guess that they are.

QB1 posted some better shots of the new unis on Instagram.

New stripes are consistent across both sets. Gold-white-blue-white-gold. Also upgraded to the latest Nike jersey template. The Zips are now using the same uniforms as the NFL and big CFB programs. Numbers have been updated to match the new Zips brand font. Similar to the numbers being used by all other sports. It's a small detail, but I really like the consistency.

I really hope they keep gold pants in the rotation. They look really nice when paired with a gold helmet and navy jersey. Wonder what helmet options we'll see? Most likely white, but I'd love them to bring back matte navy.

they just have to accept some form of US currency, and that would be credit/debit. Who was paying in cash at games in the first place?

Well technically Credit/Debit or Checks are not a form of US currency, they are a third-party product to facilitate an exchange; there is no federal law dictating that fiat currency has to be accepted, just that you have to pay sales tax on the exchange.

If the venue wanted to accept only haggling exchange for livestock they technically could. Though, there'd have to be a robust accounting for tax purposes as to the exchange of goods.

I subscribed to the Beacon and there is almost nothing about UA.  The sports section has focused mostly on a preview of area high school football programs. I know the Zips have struggled, but you'd hope that the hometown newspaper would assign someone (anyone) to cover camp, etc.

This is legit the worst coverage I can remember. Nothing from the university besides pictures and a few highlight videos. Nothing from the ABJ. Sad.

High school coverage drives clicks.  UA sports do not, apparently.  That's the ugly reality of digital media.

The Akron football Twitter and Instagram accounts actually do a pretty good job of posting a lot of pictures and videos but there is zero coverage in regards to what is actually happening. It would be nice to see a few interviews with some coaches or players. It’s unbelievable how little the ABJ does to cover this team. I’m not asking for a daily report but maybe one every few weeks??

Quarterback Leadership (01:31-02:45): Moorhead prefers a quarterback who is aggressive yet not reckless, with unquestionable confidence, rejecting the idea of a "game manager."

Career Influences (02:46-04:00): Throughout various coaching positions, Moorhead has learned valuable lessons at each stop, with some of the most impactful experiences occurring at Penn State and Fordham.

Penn State Turnaround (04:01-06:00): At Penn State, he helped instill confidence in an offense that previously struggled, particularly focusing on revitalizing the offensive line.

Big Ten Championship Season (06:01-07:15): A turning point in the Big Ten Championship season was a pivotal moment during the Minnesota game, which led to a strong finish.

Fordham Experience (07:16-09:00): As a head coach at Fordham, Coach learned how to manage time effectively and handle multiple responsibilities, helping to quickly turn around a struggling program.

Adapting to NIL and Transfer Portal (09:01-10:30): He discusses the challenges of building a program in the current college football landscape, where the NIL and transfer portal have changed traditional recruiting and program-building methods.

Program Building at Akron (10:31-12:00): Coach acknowledges the difficulty of balancing the need for immediate wins with the long-term goal of building a sustainable program culture at Akron.

Mississippi State Reflections (12:01-14:00): Reflecting on his time at Mississippi State, Moorhead highlights the contrast between public perception and the actual achievements, emphasizing lessons learned from that experience.

Future of College Football (14:01-15:30): Moorhead speculates that college football may see a split between schools that can afford to invest heavily in their programs and those that cannot, due to the growing financial disparities.
