72 Roo Posted June 5 Report Posted June 5 Only one big was signed during this announcement and the earlier one. Is that enough with who we have returning? I think in the women's game it is difficult to recruit good bigs, which we need. Quote
Copley Don Posted June 5 Author Report Posted June 5 Having the bodies alone should be enough to get us over the hump in some of those close games we didn’t have the depth to pull out last season. Let’s hope the squad has a solid summer to gel as we go into year 3 of the Gensler era. Feel like this will be a very telling season on the direction of the program. 2 Quote

Let'sGoZips94 Posted Tuesday at 03:18 PM Report Posted Tuesday at 03:18 PM Fun fact: Ryan Gensler and his team with Jason Lloyd won the Austin Carr Golf Outing yesterday. The opening conversation on the Ultimate Cleveland Sports Show has a picture and talks about the day. According to Jason Lloyd, Ryan is a heck of a golfer. Quote

He can really crush it off the tee. He grew up playing country club golf. He is a really good guy and a good coach. If he ever gets a break on the injury situation from his first 2 years I expect a MAC championship run. 3 Quote

I've always been impressed with how publicly he supports the other Akron athletic programs. Agreed that the injury bug has plagued his tenure here; hoping that changes so we can see what type of program he can really build. 1 Quote
kreed5120 Posted 14 hours ago Report Posted 14 hours ago (edited) Women's hoops seems to be growing in popularity over the last 2 years or so. I don't follow Women's hoops at Akron and am by no means informed on what kind of funding Akron provides it compared to our peers. I do know several schools, like Toledo, seem much more invested in it. It makes me wonder if Ryan would have the necessary resources to compete even if he's as great as some of you say.
