I think Sharron comes around.  He just had a rough night.

 

I love Amani's work ethic but he is what he is.  He's not a quick twitch big jumper and he's only 6'7"- 6'8".  He's always doing to struggle a little against larger skilled big men.

I also yelled at Bowen for the turnovers and once on defense when a Purdue guy was driving the lane and he backed away giving him an uncontested layup.  Groce then called a timeout.

Wouldn’t be surprised if Stank doesn’t know his limits with how fouls are called compared to Euros. That’ll be a big feeling out process

I totally agree Stank needs to learn the American game. Stank makes some really good passes and guys just can’t finish. But I have noticed he charges about once’s a game. Once he learned how to do a euro step he will be deadly.

I thought our guys came out of the gates pretty strong in this game. They were ready to go. If they can do that every time out I will be thrilled. And the maturity and composure of Eric as a freshman in that environment was quite amazing.

Our 18 pt loss at Purdue is going to look very good all year long. They are up on #15 Texas Tech in the Bahamas 81-49 with 2 minutes to play. 

 

Update: They won the Baha Mars Championship over #15 Texas Tech 86-56.

I agree, just emphasizing the word “at”, because in my world our 18 point loss at Purdue equates to an 8 point loss on a neutral court. Much better than the 30 point drubbing Texas Tech just took.

Was thinking the same thing, but also, Iowa State is a wagon and got royally screwed in the Players Tournament or whatever it was called.
