Why don't you have this same energy for the discussion on the national anthem? Listen, I think it's OK if people discuss it, or if people don't want to, that's fine too! It was out of the norm for this program and university and plenty of people noticed, so it's being discussed. It's a choice to engage in any of the many topics a discussion forum will provide.

Because I'm not a communist. Leave the commie crap to Kent - Berkley's Portage County Campus is very good at it.

Edit: I realize now that you were referring to the atrocious national anthem singing, not the anthem being played in general (a topic that has also been discussed by people who have a problem with Jesus being publicly showcased, which is where my mind went to). The discussion about the anthem being bad is entirely different because even Hellen Keller thought it sucked.

That's what happens when people make politics their identity. There is an off topic section on this forum. If people wish to engage in those kind of discussion it should be moved there. I'll just be sure to avoid those threads.

I think we're getting a bit carried away now. We discuss all sorts of topics on ZN, from the players to the coaches to the in-game entertainment to observations about the game. I understand religion can be a touchy subject for some, but it was a short discussion about something related to the Zips, everyone was respectful, and the conversation seems to have run its course.

Promise I’m done after this…I don’t equate religion with politics but if you do, the only ones making a political statement were the players wearing the shirt. Some of us found it a little JARing as it was unusual…pun intended

People visit this site for one of two reasons: to read 700 page threads about people's favorite UA logo or for GP1's bar recommendations. Anyway, I guess I'll stop wearing my Akron edition Slayer God Hates Us All shirt to games 😂

Audrey and Rusty's dad is right, basketball/sport is a way to unite communities; or at the very least, it is a desperately needed escape from the horrors of our current age. That was a really bizarre Kent Akron game. Even my KSU Alum friends were in agreement. Hopefully the rematch at the MAC Center is just as bizarre and entertaining. On to Stan Heath's Squawkin' Eagles of EMU. This crap is exhausting.
