Of course you think that. Your opinion of Tressel becoming the next President is well documented on here.
I've heard first hand from a former Dean of one of the best colleges the campus has, and he believes that choosing the next President will have less to do with academic accolades (ex. Proenza research background) and more to do with a recognizable face of the University capable of raising money. He seemed to believe that a not having a doctorate wasn't an issue, either. I asked specifically about Tressel. He never gave a clear answer, but everything he brought up leads me to think Tressel. JMO.
Also, no disrespect to Proenza, but what academic prestige does UA have as a whole? Many outsiders and even insiders still consider UA a community college. Now, we have some GREAT individual programs that most outsiders aren't aware of, but our overall image still leaves much to be desired. Tressel is a great leader and person (save the one screw up rebuttal, please). I feel he would be a great representative for our University.
