That's shown in the stats. They have 7 guys that average double digit points. That demonstrates moving the ball and finding the good open shot. I think one of the keys is Evan shutting down Suter. Suter is no longer their biggest threat but he's the gu that gets it all going. Shutting him down would be a big advantage.

I am still a bit nervous about Miami TBH. Particularly when they have Atlason on the floor. Akron likes to trap frequently on defense, but Miami moves the ball around well and can field a lineup of 5 terrific 5 point shooters to make us pay. Personally, I feel we should trap less and play more man to man defense. They don't have any post player that commands a double team against our smaller front court. What's important is being able to run them off the 3 and limit them to contested 2s.

Yes, I agree their play likely declined. I'm more pointing out even a slight regression could make them lose often in the MVC. Akron can have a bad game and still win comfortably over half the teams in the MAC. You don't get that luxury in the MVC.

Getting upset in a single elimination tournament happens. But the team we played wasn’t likely to lose 8 of their last 12 regardless of how strong the MVC is this year. Me thinks something went terribly wrong.

I haven't followed closely tbh. That could be the case. The MVC is also very deep. Not many games you can feel safe penciling in wins. Key example Belmont during Arch Madness. IMO the MVC is one of the few mid-major conferences that puts on a better conference tournament than the MAC. Mainly because there are usually so many quality teams and fans show up in large numbers.

Of course we didn’t play that Murray State. You have heard Groce mention that sometimes it matters when you play a team. I wonder if it’s injury related.

The TNT pre-game show just had Travis on. Bruce Pearl tuned into an apologetic kitten and they proceeded to kiss Travis's a** for 10 minutes. Travis actually made a nice appearance and said nice things about the Zips and Groce.

I figured he wouldn’t be here long. I was impressed with him during the game I went to this year. It should be a nice pay bump for him too.
