Besides the Zips, no public Ohio gridiron football team has gone to Columbus and came home with a win. Granted, we did it when John Heisman was coach, but the fact remains. This weekend will be no different. Ohio is a good MAC team that is light years away from competing with Ohio State for four quarters.

The Big East did not have a good night on Monday September 8th. St. John's had looked very strong this year. In their last 2 games, St. John's had tied highly ranked Wake Forest and they had tied an outstanding Marshall team. Against, Marshall, St. John's led Marshall in shots, shots on goal and in corner kicks. Tonight, St. John's played host to Rhode Island. Rhode Island came into the game with an 0-3-1 record. In their last game , Rhode Island suffered a 3-0 beatdown to Albany, Tonight, Rhode Island defeated St. John's by a 2-1 score. Army was at home and they shut out Villanova . A 2-0 win for Army. 10th ranked Pitt scored 4 against Butler in a 4-1 win. Tuesday night is a big night for opponent strength of Schedule for the Zips. VCU plays at highly ranked Clemson 6 pm Vermont hosts Dartmouth 6 pm Louisville plays at Ohio State 7 pm last Friday, Louisville upset Stanford 1-0 (Stanford was ranked number 1 at the time of the loss) as much as zips fans dislike OSU, a Buckeye win over the Cardinals will help the zips in RPI James Madison will play at Georgetown 7 pm Northern Kentucky will play at Bellarmine 7 pm Bellarmine had a 3-1 win over Xavier earlier in the year.

Congratulations to Mitch Budler A well deserved Honor.... Zips fans are fortunate to get to watch a fantastic GK every game.

I would agree but unfortunately after consistent Nonstop 3 and outs our poor defense will be gassed like they have been the past 2 games.

Keyword: "If" is nothing more than a window shopping assumption. West VA is a Power 5 School in a Power 5 Conference. Thats not a "If" Thats a Fact

Akron at #8 in the College Soccer News poll, with Vermont coming in at #5. https://collegesoccernews.com/college-soccer-news-mens-soccer-week-3-top-25-coaches-poll-clemson-is-the-new-1-and-indiana-rises-to-2/ -
admittedly im not a coach, nor have i played football since 8th grade. But fundamentally I cant accept all the dropped passes. i dont expect one hand grabs but if it hits both hands catch the dang ball. and why cant Ben go under center on a 3rd or 4th and short? wouldnt a running back with momentum have more of a chance than stepping back and handing to a RB 4 yards behind the line? also- any info on Alex Adams or Newell injuries??

I don't want to know what happens after the second OT where it's just two point tries back and forth.

I expected the Zips to be a little higher but they come in at #14 in this week's Top Drawer poll. Saturday's opponent Vermont is #10. https://www.topdrawersoccer.com/college-soccer-national-rankings/men -
In addition, MAC kickers would miss 11 FGs in overtime until one team finally made one.
-
The possibility of a 0-0 tie (despite Saturday, the Zips' defense isn't bad at all) and Akron losing 3-0 on an overtime FG is real.

If WVU played Nebraska, they would get destroyed. I watched the game. The lack of talent at WVU is pretty bad. Not sure what they were the when they brought Rodriguez back. Never the less, it was a great day for the Bobcats. In the coming years, the talent gap between the MAC and Big 12 and ACC (at the bottom third) will not be as great. The difference between those three and SEC/Big10 will continue to grow.

Ohio U won their big home game against West Virginia and are now motivated to play Ohio State Prime Time on NBC/Peacock getting a check and more exposure on the national stage. They ain't scared little sh!ts like us who moan and groan about playing Power 5s rather wanting to play no name cupcakes we can't even score a damn point against. Weak Team and Fanbase

Sunday September 7 16th ranked St. Louis defended their home turf with a 2-1 win over their local rival SIU-E #6 West Virginia recovered from their loss to Gardner Webb. The Mountaineers went on the road and got a 6-4 win over #22 George Mason. DePaul improved their record to 2 wins, 0 losses and 4 ties with a 2-1 win over Loyola of Chicago. Connecticut stayed undefeated (4-0-2) with a 3-0 beatdown of Cogate.

Nobody here wants them to lose. Some posters are like the you lose I win people that we all know. At times the devil is NOT in the details.
