  1. We have our work cut out for us against Western, but we never believed the Marshall game would play out like it did and look what happened. Some of the key players in that game are doubtful. Losing Woody, JoJo, Marcus and Ball is not what any of us foresaw as we looked to this game in early Sept. We need a "next man up" attitude and we need to believe in our coaches. We are probably going to be big underdogs, but the D is getting better and the O can still score. Losing JoJo hurts , yet we are deepest at WR. Woody may be back, while Chapman continues to get better and produces. The running game desperately needs Ball back. I hope he and Woody can go. We become a different team with them. Too many question marks for this game. It is for big time legitimacy. Our progrum has worked to get to this point. I, for one, choose to believe we will be ready, but don't ask me how right now.

  2. 2 words. Andre Jones Let's whoop some Bronco butt! I don't care who is hurt, who is playing, or who isn't. Excuses are for Can't State and OU. Let's take care of business and show the MAC and the nation that Dadgum Zips Football is BACK!

  3. Since we are well known for taking on transfers, I wanted to start a thread tracking potential players of interest. Sort of like the HS player thread that I believe Cap'n started. We have James King, John Semerene, Jelani Hamilton, and Larry Hope all on the roster from Miami which makes it seem like we have a pretty strong connection there somewhere. We also have Alvin Davis and Jelani Hamilton as St. Thomas Aquinas grads on the roster. Which leads me to.... freshman 4 star WR Sam Bruce from St. Thomas Aquinas who was released today from Miami for "multiple violations of team rules". Link to 247: http://247sports.com/Player/Sam-Bruce-23288 Senior highlight video: http://www.prepforce.com/video/8416 I hope him and Alvin are good buddies

  4. I just noticed we don't have a thread specifically for Jemarulin Suggs! This guy is one of the premier RB's in northeast Ohio. I've seen him play twice this year - against Springfield and Ellet. Though I'd say he's not great at any one thing, he does everything well. He's got good-not-great speed at 4.5 40. Definitely fast enough. But he may not break any 80-yarders at the next level. He's got good-not-great size @ 5'11" 185. In college he'll likely redshirt and come in at 5'11" - 6'0" 205-210. This is my hope, because a Jemarulin Suggs at 6'0" 210 would be a monster because his greatest asset, IMHO, is his toughness. He's a workhorse back who can carry the rock 30 times a game and be as strong in the 4th Q as he was in the 1st. He's got a mean streak and doesn't shy away from contact. No, he enjoys it and generally initiates the contact. When I see him play it's usually he who is hitting the LB's & not the other way around. I think he'll get up to at least 205 because right now, he's still a little slight in the upper body, but has powerful, RB legs. His legs are thick. Over the next year his upper body is going to catch up w/ his legs & he's going to be a muscular beast. Very happy we got a RB like Suggs who's been a tear @ RB in the city since his sophomore year.

  5. Sounds liked he was trying to intimidate another student with the photo. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2668708-sam-bruce-dismissed-by-miami-latest-comments-and-reaction Bowden seems to have the nose for when to take a risk on a kid and when not to take that risk. I am sure he would get the scoop on the kid. I am not sure anyone would have had the success we have had with the transfers.

  7. Maybe it was one of the Alien Ships escaping form the nearby blimp hanger.

  8. Lots of talent, but you have to wonder about a true freshman who gets kicked off the team for breaking multiple team rules in October.

  9. And #22 in the ESPN Power Rankings. How sweet would that be to knock them off at home? Man I hope Woodson, Ball and Natson are ready to go.

  10. Great pics as always Z. Wish you'd been doing this when I was playing, I hardly have any pictures. I'm sure the current players love this.

  11. Seeing it close up makes me appreciate even more the difficulty of the one handed Wolf touchdown catch.

  12. I addressed this one in the other thread. Actually, overall, we rushed well because of Chapman. The running backs? Not good at all. The way that Van and Manny had been running the ball since Ball's absence had very good, in my opinion. And Miami just happened to be developing into a very stingy defense that was performing well against the run. So, in the end, I hope we will find out that this was just a tough team to run against, and that our RB's being rather ineffective was just an anomaly.

  15. We're contenders and I think the team plans on proving that Saturday, not turtling away like you'd hope

  16. I would hope that isn't the case. Loser's mentality. If you want to consider yourself a contender in the MAC, you shouldn't be afraid to compete with anybody.
