  1. Now if they could just master drainage...

  2. Looks like we are a couple players (maybe the 3 transfer sit-outs?) From finishing these games against bigger names.

  3. Zips look like the better team. Hope the Zips solved the zone at the end half. Sayles with some nice minutes spelling E-man.

  4. Pretty good first half. I love Cotton's passing eye and toughness. Way to get a big ejected from the game just by playing hard. Also love Ivey's response to run over to him quickly after that foul to make sure he kept his head. Especially since the two of them had a slight altercation last game. Leading by four with no points from E-man and a rough offensive half for Duvivier is a half I'll take. One thing I didn't like was ESPN's research Department who claimed that the two schools have never met.

  6. Amen B & G. As I've sat and watched the Zips this year, he's the one departure I keep thinking could have flourished for and helped the Zips this year.

  7. This is true. The only player who could have returned that I'm wishing was still here is Antino.

  8. At this point in the season, the way I see it is we've got decent enough play at 4 of the 5 starting positions. Utomi, Ivey, and usually to a lesser extent, Duvivier are known quantities and are always going to bring something to the table. Cotton has shown he is capable enough of spelling Duvivier and seems to continually improve. I think we can get okay-enough production out of Sayles/Poke at the 5 on any given night. Obviously depth is an issue as well as expected. We really only have 2 bench players that you can count on to give you something and that is Cotton and Sayles. Patton and Marc should have been redshirted this year, but obviously couldn't due to lack of depth. Prime candidates for red-shirts next year, IMO with 4 new players coming into the fold. Parrish is the one position where I think we really need better play from. He's shown he's capable of it, but hasn't provided much as of late like he did earlier in the year. Maybe its a mid-season slump. Maybe he's better off being the 6th man, but I think as he goes, this team will go this year. It's unfair to ask that much of him, and i still think he's going to have a bright future no matter what, but it just is what it is due to our lack of depth and youth.

  9. We've been lulled into a false sense of security by how the Zips have played at home against suspect competition. Predictably, the Zips were beaten by a P5 team ranked by many on the top 10 in the pre-season. I'm certainly not happy with the way the second half looked, but despite that ugliness, I am pleased with where the Zips are as a team given where they were when KD left and some vital pieces followed him out the door. We can't forget this is a year of transition.

  10. You show about as much class as your players and your coach. I was thinking a rulebook with pictures included might help FAU fans and players but apparently pictures are not even clear enough for you since this one show your player's helmet hitting first. Your dumbass argument is he led with his shoulder but genius, if you look at the picture you CLEARLY see the head and neck turning sideways and shoulders are still back. The fact you would even argue something like this is pathetic.

  11. Amazing how things can go so wrong so fast for this team. What a nightmare this week has been for the Zips.

  12. Really like this team but something is definitely missing. I know...firm grasp of the obvious.

  13. Or we could build the new arena with them. It's a Lego kind of night.

  14. Live by the 3, die by the 3. This team cannot penetrate against the zone. Almost no attempts from the paint in the second half. This team has folded in the 2nd half on the road several times this year. Nothing from Poke, Utomi 1 for 7 in the second half.

  15. Good on the refs for getting that right. Very dirty. Good to see our players/coaches keep cool.

  18. Have you ever been to an OU sporting event in Athens? They do it all game long. The jackasses are the people in Columbus, who are Ohio STATE, and insist that they are O-H-I-O.

  19. Stuart mentioned in this article about snubs https://www.topdrawersoccer.com/college-soccer-articles/six-mls-combine-snubs_aid43603 F Stuart Holthusen, Akron Perhaps Holthusen’s exclusion is down to Zips fatigue – there are already five players invited to the combine from the College Cup side – though Holthusen, a New Zealand youth international who finished the season on fire, should get a chance to play in front of MLS coaches. While he lacks the physical traits that lays the base for what MLS teams value, Holthusen is a savvy player and good finisher that can find space on the field in front of goal.
