  1. The Zips defense gets a bit of a boost this fall with the return of DL Devonte Jest, LB James King and Andy Jean Baptiste (6' 4" 270 lb DL). All three were at Hutchinson JC last season. Release

  2. PCCC should be the 1st or 2nd game every year regardless of who is the home team. If that takes a payroll game away early in the season then schedule an SEC team during their non conference week late in the year. Or schedule one of the few independents that are left later in the year. it has to be tough for them to schedule once teams are in league play.

  3. I think you might be confused. That $25 figure listed on the picture is actually the deposit amount. GA season tickets still start at $60 so the price per game actually went up, not down.

  4. I like having the bye week inbetween the non-conference and MAC games, especially after what looks like a very difficult non-conference schedule. But why does Kent always get the Wagon Wheel games early in the year but when we host it it's always late November in the cold?

  5. Minimal MACtion, and a November Saturday home game to close out the home sked. Black Friday at OU for all the East marbles? http://gozips.com/news/2018/2/22/mac-announces-2018-football-schedule.aspx?camefrom=EMCL_2120775_89050561

  6. Agreed....why not categorize the expense as something else? For those not following....Loren Jackson's name showed up as getting paid on one of those documents. The document was from 2016, so it's got nothing to do with Akron regardless, but as Hilltopper pointed out, its likely the Victory Rock prep guy is the most likely culprit as he seems to have a ton of connections with big names and not our Loren "Christian" Jackson. Interestingly, one of the players he has listed on his page is Aubrey Williams (Toledo).

  7. I was puzzled why a guy with his big-play potential was ever moved to TE. I'll never forget the long catch and TD run he had right in front of me against Pitt at Heinz Field a few years ago.

  9. Excited for game tomorrow. Any thoughts, insights, keys to the game anyone other than SkipZip wants to share?

  10. Yes, that is a little confusing. I went and looked at it again. But my diatribe on offering cheap tickets stands. Don't worry. They will be throwing in free parking and free food vouchers to try to sell more of those tickets by July.

  11. I was a bit concerned about playing NIU a mere 5 days after traveling to Mount Pleasant to face CMU. But that turn-around is not nearly as tough as the turn-around NIU has. They play at BYU a mere 5 days before coming to Akron. Hopefully the Huskies will be a little worn out & flat.

  12. I concur. I'm ok with the losses as long as the effort is there; wins are that much better, too. Additionally, I think we've seen much better ball movement and defense.

  15. True, it's only one game. But it was one solid, complete game. Do it again Zips, Skip is watching!!
