George Thomas posted his latest article about the cancellation at 9:49 p.m. last night. There were 7-8 misspellings/grammatical errors. It looks like an editor made several corrections at 10:30 last night and then several more at 8:30 this morning. But the lede remains unchanged: "A combination of weather and logistics combined forced postponement of the University of Akron’s season opener against Nebraska on Saturday night in Lincoln, Neb." I get that George doesn't know better, but they must have 1-2 decent copy editors still on staff, right?

The Tunein app is great for listening to games all around the country if your on the go. I also recommend "The Score" app. The app gives you an easy view of all the scores, tv channels and betting lines for all the games. They also attach any AP articles to the game threads as well as a tab for social media for both teams. I usually have multiple screens up watching games. I use The Score app to watch for close games in the 4th and with the ease of the app i know what channel or stream to turn one of the extra tvs to.

Can't believe we just started this thread. Lol. Morgan State was on tv last weekend. They looked awful. They were taken to the woodshed by Towson 36-10 & the game wasn't even that close. I just hope we get out of this game without any injuries. I'm bringing a group of 15. So I'm praying for NO rain. Go Zips!

Bizarre. If the Zips were so bad as to completely drop out of the top 25, how could NC State’s win over the Zips be so impressive as to vault them from 17 to 4 ?

Simple answer: double-header in Ames! Two games and two tailgates!

Kinda glad I didn't get that telescoping flagpole that was on my list! Seriously, it rained Saturday morning, but it ended up being a decent day for tailgating.

I am so deflated about last night. National television prime time under the lights against a Big Ten team for the world to see and this happens. I feel for the kids and staff and FU to anyone looking down hating on anyone who are positive about this Zips team believing they could win last night. I was one of them who believed and its YOU people who have that negative perception never giving the Zips a chance against Power 5 teams that hold us back. I watched Appalachian State run with Penn State who were favored by 24 take them to OT and Maryland without a Head Coach, Athletic Director and President upset Texas. Anything is possible. Sorry for the rant but I just hate to see negative comments when I come in here.

That's one good thing about the cancellation; it allows some to continue their fantasies.

This is the third game the Huskers have ever cancelled and the last time was back in the 40s so not having such a provision is a little easier to believe. Hopefully, but also unlikely, they have insurance to cover such a contingency. On another note, I must admit I was wrong and you guys were right. Never in my wildest dreams would I think the Zips could hold the Huskers scoreless for over 2 hours.
