  1. This is interesting. Students will now be in section B, the first full section opposite the visitor bench. I hope students show up, cuz I would've loved those seats about 15 years ago.

  2. Nice!!! As a Rowdies alumnus, I approve. I always thought having the groups bifurcated at opposite ends was kind of awkward. Moving the Rowdies AND selling beer at the corner of Buchtel and Spicer? What's going on here with all of this sensible decision making?

  3. I'm glad we've looked solid the past two weeks. Any potential candidate who was watching our game last week sees that we've got some offensive talent with which to work.

  4. IMO, the Zips are a lock for a bid. Going strictly by RPI, the last-in team right now would be #38. And I believe there are now only 4 conferences (Missouri Valley, Atlantic 10, Colonial, Conf USA) in which a below 38 RPI team could still bump a team with a higher RPI than Akron. If all 4 have upset winners, the last-in team is #34. And Akron will end up in the mid-20s. So the committee would have to pull 10 or so teams with RPIs below #34 and put them in above #25ish Akron. And there just aren't ten teams with RPI below #34 that look better than Akron.

  5. I had not looked at conference RPI rankings recently....MAC is pretty strong of course, they were super strong last year....and the NCAA screwed West Virginia last year and gave Charlotte an at large bid (even though West Virginia had defeated conference USA champ Marshall...and WVU had also defeated Charlotte 3-0 in regular season RankNCAA Division I Men's SoccerRPI 1Pac-12 Conference.5855 2Atlantic Coast Conference.5791 3Big East Conference.5594 4Mid-American Conference.5501 5Big Ten Conference.5455 6American Athletic Conference.5296 7Conference USA.5295 8Colonial Athletic Association.5252 9America East Conference.5003 10West Coast Conference.4985 11Atlantic 10 Conference.4953 12Ivy League.4944

  7. Considering where Akron and Duquesne were at the beginning of the Groce & Dambrot respective eras, who would you rather have now? Duquense hasn't accomplished squat, and seems to have reverted back to being a mess. We are very blessed to have John Groce as Dambrot's replacement.

  8. #82 Duquesne pulls off the upset over #39 Rhode Island, 2-1. (RPIs are post game, per gaucho dan's continuous updating.) This reduces Rhode Island's change of an at-large bid, which I presume is why you wanted them to lose ...

  10. There was a play before the touchdown where our safety did the same thing. He let the receiver run past him but the pass was overthrown and incomplete. The safeties are looking at the quarterback and are not watching the receivers as they run down the field past them.

  11. A big part of coaching at the collegiate level is recruiting. Not having the talent they need to form a somewhat competent defensive scheme falls squarely on the coaches.

  14. With the way these two are playing on defense the under/over may be higher on the football game than it will be for the basketball game in 2 months!
