  1. I’m almost always going to be in favor of burning the redshirt in these situations. If the guy can play, don’t mess around and let him play. Then he’ll only be more ready for next year and so on and so forth. If the recruiting program does its job, it will be next man up when it’s time to replace him instead of trying to squeeze this year go get another year out of him in 2026. In 2016 when we were down to our last QB, the head coach at the time elected to go into the last couple games looking for bowl eligibility with a WR instead of giving Kato his first shot, just to save the redshirt. The Zips had yet another 5-7 season, dropping a winnable game at Ohio and losing to a God-awful BG team at home on senior night. It was sickening. Burn the redshirt.

  2. Watching the WR play QB or watching Kato in his extra year that we could have burnt? 😅

  3. Okay Zips fans, who do you project as the starting five. I've been disqualified from answering this question based upon my past projections for Taylor Currie.

  5. I had so many emotions in just a few seconds. I stood up and cheered in excitement then verbally abused the air when I realized he dropped it. LOL

  6. I'll be joining you in the bleachers this season. At ~$4/ticket to watch a competitive basketball team it amazes me these don't sell better.

  7. So annoying. I hate how Ohio State dominates across the state.

  9. Looks like they're going to burn his redshirt, eh? Wish Gray would/could step up. Oh well, gotta get the best 11 on the field.

  10. How AWESOME is it that the only member of the current [USMNT] group with World Cup experience is a Zips Men's Soccer alum?!!! USMNT promise "different intensity” in World Cup prep vs. Saudi Arabia ... Veteran fullback DeAndre Yedlin, the only member of the current group with World Cup experience thanks to his breakout showing at Brazil 2014, acknowledged as much. He, along with many others on this month’s roster, needs a solid showing to give himself the best chance of making the final cut. “Naturally guys are going to be nervous,” said the Seattle Sounders product. “Naturally guys are going to know what's at stake. But at the end of the day, it's making sure everybody realizes that this is a team, you know what I mean? When the team performs well, everybody does well. “We all love each other here,” added the Inter Miami CF defender. “And we're all trying to obviously make this team, so yeah, it's down to crunch time now. Obviously guys can have anxiety or whatever about making the squad, but we just need to do what’s best for the team.” ...

  11. World Cup foundation: Canada get "final"-level test vs. Uruguay ...If Buchanan isn’t risked on Tuesday, Hoilett is a reliable veteran who can link play and provide a bit of cover in midfield if Canada stick with their double pivot. Alternatively, Richie Laryea is a dynamo on the right and can provide extra solidity at the back. ...

  12. - On Liberty’s last scoring drive they caught us in a bad defensive alignment two plays in a row out of trips. However, when they got down near the goal line the defensive stand we had was impressive. Liberty did end up scoring but watching our players communicate and adjust on all the motions and shifts Liberty was doing while still holding ground…talk about improvement! - Liberty went after Durant a good chunk of the night. While Durant was hit or miss in pass coverage, he was excellent as a blitzer. - If Richardson and Thomas played on defense, I did not see them. That may be another one PFF got wrong. - Whigan was really good. I’m not sure what PFF saw in regards to his rating. - Landers has great feet. Probably only a matter of time before he sees the field more. - This may be splitting hairs but it still did not feel like a game we should have won. Could have won yes, but it seemed like we were always playing catch up. Just my take on that.

  13. Rewatching the game and I noticed Landers played the 2nd to last drive in the first half. So he at least played 5 snaps for the game. PFF got that one wrong. Have yet to see Richardson.

  14. I’m going to send in these questions to George and see if we can get any information. What is the status of Terry and Golden-Nelson? Why didn’t McCoy play more than 17 snaps when he started and seemed to be playing fairly well? Why didn’t Robarge see any snaps at center when all the snaps were split the past 3 games? Richardson played a handful of snaps - what is the plan with working him back in?

  15. Sounds like the ABJ had both Michael Beaven and George Thomas asking questions. Big step in the right direction (if this isn't a one-time thing).

  16. Without checking, I bet they were all big winners in HS. With a little success last Saturday, I sensed a bit more intensity in our guys. They remember winning, and I think that they will put it together Saturday.

  17. I have no problem with penalties as long as there was a penalty. I saw Clemson get flagged for three straight pass interference penalties Saturday. Every one of them was a penalty. What bothers me about college penalties is the amount of time it takes to administer a penalty. Almost as bad as the reviews and college clock rules. As long as we are discussing things that bother me, I can't stand fans who think refs should equal out the number of penalties per team. What if one team just stinks and commits a lot of penalties? Why should the refs have to equal that out?

  18. That late goal in the 1st half has not just happened this year. I clearly remember it happening the past several seasons.

  20. Do yourselves a favor....go to GoZips.com and click on the Menu tab, and pick "staff directory". Go down to "Communications and Marketing". Three people total. And rumor has it one of those three is not actually working, just sitting home collecting a check due to being let go. Go to a D2 college website and check out their Comm and Marketing staffs. Guaranteed triple that number. Or go look at any MAC school's staff, at least 8 to 10 admins, plus Grad students. Then, throw in the fact that new management at the U decided to not use PEG to produce and manage football "game day experience", you will see why there will not be "creative things to do" during the agreed-terribly long time out breaks....New Admin has been hitting home runs with coaching hires, but losing the game admininstratively, IMHO.
