Edge/OLB Sebastian Benjamin of St. Francis has been offered. Zips fans may recall #9 giving us all kinds of issues in Game 1. As a reminder, he collected 3 sacks that game.3 points

Thanks to both of you (and others) for posting about WBB and for following! Nice to see interest, and you're right, they're playing well, and showing great strides, and a nice push in the 4th quarter to get the job done last night!2 points

Based on twitter activity, the staff appears to be going after Luke Altmyer (transfer from Ole Miss). https://247sports.com/Player/Luke-Altmyer-46050393/high-school-218854/2 points

If you click on year by year records, Maryland was seeded 11 when they won NCAA in 2018 https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maryland_Terrapins_men's_soccer2 points

Zips are #4 in Top Drawer recruiting rankings fellow new league member Georgetown is #3 https://www.topdrawersoccer.com/article/?categoryId=26&articleId=51562&articleTitle=2023-mens-di-recruiting-rankings:-nov 3. Georgetown* (7) Commitments: M Mateo Ponce Ocampo (FC Westchester – No. 36), D Oliver Stafford (NYCFC – No. 81), M Eric Howard (Crossfire Premier – No. 122), M Matthew Van Horn (Shattuck St. Mary’s – No. 141), M John Heaps (Alabama FC), M Matthew Helfrich (Bethesda SC) Six players were confirmed via a Twitter announcement. Georgetown only loses one starter from this fall’s squad, setting them up for a strong platform for 2023. 4. Akron (5) Commitments: M Caleb Borneo (Crew SC Academy – No. 14), D Joshua Hardin (Colorado Rapids – No. 68), F Nathan Ferguson (St. Louis City SC – No. 184), M Joshua Bartels (Crew SC Academy), M Matthew Dreas (FC Cincinnati), M Jackson Herbert (North FC), F Alen Kapic (FC Cincinnati), M Ryan Kopay (Beadling SC) Akron’s secured commitments from some of the top talent from domestic ranks. Getting Borneo on campus will be critical, as he’s emerged as a high level prospect for the Crew.2 points

Isn't this the case with OSUcks, Bama, etc.? The name of the game is recruiting. At that level (Cincy entering the Big 12), good coaches bring in the most talent possible, establish the culture, then stay out of their talents' way. Deion has proven to 1) recruit damn well and 2) be able to establish a strong culture. Personally, I'd love to see Cincy hire Brian Hartline simply to send OSUcks fans into a panic attack of epic proportions.1 point

So there are 14 2023 commits and the transfer portal offers are flying out fast and furious. It's always hard to look at the roster and know exactly how many Seniors are coming back but it does seems apparent that this will be another year of major turnover on the roster. I guess it's just the new normal.1 point

Wouldn’t be surprised. He’s a player JoeMo recruited out of high school. Also expect the staff to at least reach out to Oregon 4 star WR Dont’e Thornton.1 point

I was looking up the season long stats of top 100 players at positions of Akron and Buffalo on ESPN.com of the players who are expected to play Friday (did not include Irons and surprised Victor Jones was not on the sack list). One caveat is that Akron and Buffalo have played 11 games while everyone else has played 12. Numbers should increase. I went through a lot of numbers so I may have missed some stats. -Cole Snyder, Buffalo QB is 58th in passing at 2501 yards -Former Buffalo QB from Stow Kyle Vantrease is 3rd in the nation in passing yards at 3,897 for Georgia Southern. -Bubba is 9th in tackles at 118 -Shaun Dolac from Buffalo is 5th in tackles at 123 -James Patterson from Buffalo is 50th in tackles at 98 -Jacq Louis is tied with Alex Adams at 50th in receiving at 837 yards On this limited data, it tells me that Buffalo has a better defense, but Akron has a slightly better offense. I do not see it justifying the Buff -11.5 spread. Go Zips!!!! LGZ94 partially beat me to the post as I was typing.1 point

And he really didn't do bad at Texas, just didn't live up to their top 5 program wannabe standard.1 point

I'd get the need for wanting size if we were being bullied and outrebounded, but we're not. The real issue has been the lack of consistent perimeter shooting. That's not to say I wouldn't like to have more size at the wing, but I don't see that as a reason for why we lost any of these games.1 point

I think Flohoops did a great job broadcasting the tournament. The video was perfect and it was nice not to hear about the over and under every 10 seconds. (LOL) Well worth the $30 for 3 games. I just cancelled and got my e mail confirmation. Just a reminder to Zips fans to cancel your Flohoops or they will charge you every month. Also, saw a Beacon article on the game which is great. But it was printed on Saturday, 3 days after the game. John Knight is turning over in his grave.1 point

I hope that Tavari gets the start based on his play last game. We could certainly use him if he plays anything like he did last Wed. I am an optimist and think he will continue to play at that level. We need him playing the point and X can be the 2 guard. We need outside shooting and thus far Hunter and Tribble have been shooting blanks. He also has shown the ability to penetrate and dish off to Freeman. If he starts do you go small and put him in for Hunter or do you bring him in for Tribble and have Tribble off the bench? Thoughts?0 points
