I understand your frustration with the 9 pm start time. I work on Saturdays and I wake up at 3 am. But I won't let that stop me from being there. Sometimes you just need to suck it up and deal with it. And if there was one game all year that you have to jump through hoops to be at, then this would be it. Go to the game, you won't regret it.
We can chalk up this win to great defense and X having a great game. I hate to see Hankerson, Hunter and Tribble being so one dimensional. Hankerson and Hunter can only shoot from the outside and Tribble can only score inside. Hankerson and Hunter were a combined 3 for 17 with the 3 ball and took a combined 3 shots from inside the 3 line. Tribble was 4 for 7 scoring inside and had a good game for 9 points. I cannot remember the last time Tavari scored a basket. However, he is playing good defense except he gave up one offensive rebound where he just stood and watched the rebound. We shot 35 3 balls and only shot 22% and won. You will not see that in many games. Any road win is a good win so no complaints just observations.
That’s too bad. I saw his stats the other day and they aren’t good. Can’t imagine he thinks his decision was worth it right about now. Wonder if he’d want to come back as a grad transfer.
The Dukes continue their regression to the mean, losing to Fordham yesterday. The Captain’s Curse strikes YSU as well. Next I’ll curse Marshall…who’s rolling the at 17-4.
It’s shaping up that way. Even Akron and Toledo have shown at times throughout the year that they may not be quite up to the level as expected. EMU being the worst team is not what I was expecting. I wasn’t quite as bullish on the Emoni Bates situation as a lot of people, but this has been shocking to watch. They’re dreadful. WMU has shown the most promise out of that group, maybe CMU when healthy. Buts it’s slim pickings. Half the league has coaches who’ve been there just 1-2 years. It’s as top heavy as we’ve seen in a long time.
Hey bigjim, keep in mind that the final rating will come next fall. One must also consider the other side of the equation: what did others loose to the portal ( and graduation) before we try ntp predict where we stand in the MAC. Right now, it looks like we have gained much morer than we lost. What about the rest of ther MAC?
Are these Western Michigan announcers on ESPN+? The fact that they are openly rooting for the Broncos, I'd assume they are. They are awful to listen to and so unprofessional.
Yes! His jumper still looks a little off. Has been since he got back from the injury. But he’s creating and making smart plays, and the effort is top notch at always. He’s quickly moving up the ranks of my favorite Zips of all time.
Just recently they’ve had:
The embarrassment last year
Pippen beating the s*** out of Justin Hamilton in the team hotel during the 2021 tournament
Jaylin Walker getting in a bar fight to be suspended for senior night
And also last year, an assistant coach’s nephew (Sullinger) got an OVI then played in the MAC title game shortly after
And Pinky’s presser after the ass-kicking Groce put on them last year was pathetic. Took ZERO accountability for the incident(s) from last year or any of the prior junk. The inmates run the asylum over there. No matter what happens in 2023, I will forever feel better for what we have than that joke of a successful college basketball program. I’m proud to be an Akron Zip, now more than ever. Beat WMU.
Nope. KSUcks men's basketball has developed a long and illustrious tradition of dickheadery. At KSUcks that tradition apparently never graduates, it just reloads.
Could anyone imagine high-character guys like Enrique, Sammy, Tribble, or Hankerson... just to mention a few... on the KSU team?! They'd be absolutely miserable. Thank God for Groce. Something about his character attracts a distinctly different caliber of person than whatever is wrong with the dysfunctional (I won't say degenerate) culture over at PCCC.
Seems like we could retrofit the JAR similar to EMU Gervin Center. Turn the track into Suites. https://cloud.threshold360.com/locations/8466438-747904955/thresholds
Just watched the end of UConn's thumping of Butler. Ali's line- 21 minutes played, 0-1 shooting, 0 rebounds, o assists, two fouls, one turnover, zero points.
