if the coaches can begin coaching on August 6th, captain's practice should start soon I think that Dyson, Malik and Jonas are still playing for the Flint City Bucks in USL 2. On Sunday July 21, Flint City def. Ft Wayne 2-1 in the USL 2 central conference semis Google shows that Dyson, Malik and Jonas and their teammates play Peoria Friday night at 8:30 in USL 2 central conference title game sounds like Jonas had an assist in win over Ft. Wayne https://www.instagram.com/p/C9tgRGzsFrE/?hl=en&img_index=1 Key Dates: August 5 (team photo/team meetings) August 6 (first official training day) August 11 (first exhibition vs Michigan) August 16 (second exhibition vs Pitt) August 22 (season opener @ Notre Dame) August 25 (home opener vs Ohio State)1 point

I'd add that the new Teambuilder might be the coolest feature of the entire game. While the stadium structures are locked in, you can upload whatever logos or graphics you want. Old Zippy logos, old wordmarks, script Akron, doesn't matter. You can build out 5 different uniform sets with different helmets and finishes for everything. They mentioned that real logos wouldn't be allowed due to copyright laws, but there are several Akron teams on the servers already. As well as real FCS schools.1 point

Thought I’d bump this thread so everyone could see where the 2022 class currently stands. It usually takes a few years for freshmen to develop and contribute. It also takes a few years to look back and see how impactful the class actually was. So far, there have been 6 all-conference players (1 freshman, 5 portal) and 17 starters from the 35 player class. Only scholarship players are listed below. 2022 Freshmen Still on the Team: RB - Charles Kellom WR - Bobby Golden OL - Keylen Davis OL - Tyhler Williams DT - Kiawan Murphy LB - Bryan McCoy (All-MAC) 2022 Freshmen No Longer on the Team: QB - Dijon Jennings RB - Anthony Stallworth TE - Marquell Darnell OL - Jourden Hale OL - Ki’Marii Landers LB - Jaharon Griffin Transfer Portal Additions still on the Team: WR - Alex Adams (All-MAC) CB - Devontae Golden-Nelson Transfer Portal Additions No Longer on the Team: ( * has been placed beside players who have exhausted their eligibility) QB - Jeff Undercuffler * RB - Clyde Price RB - Cam Wiley WR - Daniel George (All-MAC) * WR - Shocky Jaquel-Louis (All-MAC) * TE - TJ Banks * TE - Caden Clark OL - Max Banes OL - Anthony Whigan (All-MAC) * DE - Victor Jones * DT - Curtis Harper * DT - Ravontae Holt * DT - Devon Robinson LB - Tim Terry * S - Kerry Martin (All-MAC) S - Nate Thompson * S - Jaden Woods JUCO Addition still on the Team: LB - Antavious Fish JUCO Additions No Longer on the Team: WR - Caleb Anderson DT - Kyle Thomas CB - Cam Threatt1 point

Big time get for us. Syracuse was firmly after him. He took a round of OVs - with one of them being to Syracuse and finished his OVs with us. The staff apparently sealed the deal at that time. The Syracuse insiders at Rivals were all over this one and predicted the commitment to Akron yesterday.1 point

#5 on the Top Ten Playing With Pain Date: Nov. 2, 2002 Situation: Marshall at Akron. Injury: Broken left tibia. Result: Byron Leftwich went to the hospital for X-rays in the first quarter of a scoreless game. By the time he came back, Marshall trailed 27-10 midway through the third quarter. Leftwich threw for 208 yards the rest of the way but his rally fell short as Akron held on for a 34-20 victory. The outcome of the game, however, long has been forgotten. The enduring image from that night was Leftwich being carried downfield by offensive linemen Steve Sciullo and Steve Perretta after a 41-yard completion to wideout Darius Watts in the fourth quarter and several other big plays.1 point

The NCAA is looking at adding scholarships across sports, starting next year. Football would go to 105. The supposed pro's for doing this would be that it sets a hard cap on players. As we have heard, some teams have had "walk-ons" that actually getting paid to cover their scholarship cost. This would close that back door. I also imagine that the NCAA will spin this as a win against the amount of players in the transfer portal (3,800+) I'm worried that this hurts the G5 schools two ways. The trickle down of players. There will be 1,360 less boarder line players that will go to the G5 vs the P4. I heard a counter argument to this being kids want to play. The kid 3rd on the depth chart will still transfer to a G5 to get playing time. Maybe, but the P4 has more scholarships too, so who is to say they don't just transfer to another, maybe lower, P4 school. The other part of this is the increase in operating cost for schools. This isn't just a football increase so just the cost having sports is going up. They are saying the projected increase is by 3 to 7 million dollars.0 points
