  1. I met the women's coach at a Zips golf outing in June. I'd hire her to do anything. She seems like a great leader. I asked her a few questions that were interesting to me, but maybe not to her, and she gave me very well-thought-out, detailed answers. I asked her why the women's team hadn't been able to ride the coattails of the men's program and she basically said they are two completely different, mutually exclusive entities. I asked how she recruits, and she said the best tool she has is the School of Nursing. The women on the team are all very academically oriented and the top notch nursing program at UA is a big asset. Very impressive, focused woman. I would expect her to do some outstanding things in her career.

  4. Yeah.....but I'm going anyway with my wife and I'm dragging my kid out of South Residence Hall to go too. Go Zips!

  5. Do not catch some Z’s on the Lady Zips! Akron WSOC is currently the standard bearer!

  7. If the Big10 can have 17 teams, why can’t the P5 be comprised of 6 conferences?

  8. Yes, they update throughout the week. They are usually similar by the end of the week but some players do get substantial adjustments, like Lavea.

  9. Wow, just looked at the seating chart for tickets available. Looks like a grenade could go off and nobody will be hurt. 😞

  10. I think I've been too critical of Guthrie's "A". Colgate's logo is WAY worse.

  11. I don't know the details behind it, but if it remains P5 on a technicality, I can guarantee the Big 10, SEC, Big 12, and ACC will fix that during the next round of negotiations.

  12. I don't find the volume of the music to be any different than any other FBS or NFL game I've been to. Might just feel a little out of place considering how sparse/dead our crowd usually is.

  13. My understanding is it will not be a 'power' conference but rather a G6.

  14. Can somebody please tell me we will not have to listen to nonstop blaring music during every stoppage that gives the few people that attend these games a blazing headache. Can't we just have the band play during a few timeouts?

  15. So excited by the recent outcomes for the women's soccer team! We went to both the Oakland and the Wright State matches, (and unfortunately came back and watched the men vs. Ohio State after dinner). There are marked signs of improvement, both of the players themselves and the strategies/tactics employed by the staff. And the new recruits seem to be fitting in and having a level of talent above past teams. Two thigs that has stood out to me: Their resilience - they have bounced back from deficits, where in the past going down a goal was the death knell for the Zips. And their team work. Both goals I witnessed were a cut above past because they were actual plays... both goals were assisted, the flow of the attack was spot on, and they converted. Sure, there's a lot of things needing improvement, but the early results are very positive.
