I've been researching the roster limits and I believe the players who were walk-ons are grandfathered in - so Groce and Halligan wouldn't count toward the 15 player limit. They apparently did this so existing walk-ons weren't forced out of programs.
We really haven't been playing to hold on to the lead in the 2nd half, we have been still keeping up pressure, this feels different than other zips teams recently
Before tonight’s game at number 2 Clemson, the VCU Rams had a 1-3-1 record
final from Clemson , SC
VCU 2 Number 2 Clemson 1
tonight’s final score from Burlington, VT
unranked Dartmouth and number 13 Vermont battled to a 3-3 draw.
Great win for VCU. That will help the RPI of the Zips.
They've matched the 2010 team with six clean sheets out the gate! We had some truly remarkably talented fullbacks on that team. 'Z' Valentin, Chad Barson and Kofie Sarkodie. And record-setting GK David Meves in net. Wow! Could Mitch Budler be remembered in the same way as Meves? Dare I ask...Where's the College Cup in December?
As a guy who is not a soccer die hard but loves the zips this is the type of game I love to see. OFFENSE. I’ve grown to love the zips defense and domination of possession but games like these are what brings casual students back. Winning is always entertaining but scoring helps a lot too
And that's okay. Others might think the same about you. I agree with what you say more than I don't (and value your input) but it's the way your going about that can feel off-putting. Regardless UAs best days are ahead.
I agree with you, I always root for MAC teams playing power 5 teams. It helps the conference immensely when they win. I just think it’s ironic that now you are so loyal yet say Akron couldn’t beat a high school team.
No disrespect to David Meves. Mitch Budler is better. Mitch is truly outstanding.
Speaking of fullbacks, there needs to be an investigation if Ashton Kamdem is not all Big East this year. Ashton is an excellent left outside back.
9-0 on shots and 3-1 on corners tells a story of domination beyond the 2-0 score.
Another goal in the first fifteen minutes of the second half, and both teams will relax and see the game out. It is great that this team is not overlooking any opponents.
Besides the Zips, no public Ohio gridiron football team has gone to Columbus and came home with a win. Granted, we did it when John Heisman was coach, but the fact remains. This weekend will be no different. Ohio is a good MAC team that is light years away from competing with Ohio State for four quarters.
